Preacher pickup in New Mexico

Rogen Preacher Slate

Directors Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg may barely believe they’re (expletive) “doing this”, but things are getting very real as they bring the images and story of the cult comic, “Preacher”, to life in New Mexico. Rogen has shared many stills from the visually evocative shoot:

And now word on the wire is that the AMC pilot will be picked up for a series run on the network. Hooray for cast and crew currently working on the pilot, here’s to continued employment on this exciting New Mexico production; another in a long line of lasting episodic work generated as a result of 2013’s historic “Breaking Bad Bill”, executed by film worker leadership for sustainable jobs in the state.

The project, from Rogen, Goldberg, Sony TV, and AMC Studios, centers on Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says. Along with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), the three embark on a journey to literally find God.
