Josh Brolin appeared in the Oscar winning film, “No Country For Old Men”. Jeff Bridges starred in the Oscar winning film, “Crazy Heart”. Taylor Kitsch starred in the Oscar nominated film “Lone Survivor”. All three of those films were made in New Mexico and all three of these actors are set to return to NM to star in the upcoming drama about the 2013 Granite Hill Mountain Fires that claimed the lives of 19 Firefighters from the elite ‘Hotshots’ team. Miles Teller and James Badge Dale will also star.
Variety reports that Kitsch and Bridges will play firefighters in the movie which is currently in pre-production in New Mexico.
Specialty background roles, such as caucasian children and pregnant women are currently being cast for the film by local casting director Elizabeth Gabel. Real Firefighters, Police and families will also be needed. Filming is scheduled to begin in June and continue through September.
