As chronicled in the business section of the Denver Post Nuevo México is the go-to spot for commercial space exploration in the west.
“Virgin Galactic, which has signed a 20-year lease that calls for $1 million payments a year to the spaceport for five years and then more money to cover costs, has deposits from more than 300 people signed up for $200,000 each.
The rides will take off from and land on the spaceport’s 10,000-foot-long runway, which is close to completion. The 110,000-square-foot terminal hangar facility — which resembles an outer-space manta ray — should be completed by year’s end…
Spaceport America already has created about 600 construction jobs. Studies by Futron Corp. and New Mexico State University estimate that within five years, the spaceport will generate about 2,300 jobs and $300 million in revenues. By 2015, those numbers rise to 3,460 jobs and $552 million in revenues.”

Each fest is oozing with NM filmies + and if you’ve never been on a set or to a fest ea. is a must. The films themselves will no doubt be extraordinary, the people and culture are phenomenon unto themselves.
Come out and support what is rapidly becoming a major force in the state we all love. These are showcases, fundraisers and educational experiences sure to boost our sagging economy and raise our sometimes glib spirits. Dip your toe in the experience or dive all the way in…
It’s a trip – for Jenna

It’s been announced today that Disney’s forthcoming Marvel Television Division will be helmed by producer Jeph Loeb (Heros, Smallville).
“Loeb will work alongside Dan Buckley, publisher & president of the print, animation & digital divisions of Marvel Worldwide to adapt Marvel characters and stories to television as both live-action and animation series. Additionally, Loeb will oversee the development and distribution of live-action, animated and direct-to-DVD series. Loeb was previously a Marvel-exclusive comic book writer and also did a stint on Lost. Marvel’s rival DC Comics has built a primetime presence through its deal at Warner Bros. TV that has spawned such series as Smallville and Human Target.” – Deadline.com
As we’ve touched on here, we lurves us a certain mouse in this NM house! We bes’ be gettin’ our welcome wagon wheels polished in hopes, nay dreams that Mr. Loeb will see fit to film in Nuevo México – a nice muffin basket and or balloon bouquet can’t hurt?!?
You can grill it, roast it, stew it, glaze it, saute it – pay over $40 for a 16 oz. bag of dried it, over $10 for one sandwich of it, or just $5 for a fresh lb. of it.
This elegantly named and masterfully marketed fungus came on the scene like so many other oversized and opulent vices in the eighties when some mutant criminis were overrunning crops and generating tons of waste.
As the literal translation of its name denotes – Beautiful Port/Door, the spawn of these previously despised spores remain highly desirable and a retain their inflated price point.
Not just for FarmVille and Class Reunions anymore, Social Media runs the gamut from pig-tail pulling to big business dealing. Write your own epitaph, all but eliminate the paparazzi, catch the news – make the news.
When our own local Queen of Social Media puts on a Tweetup that rivals multi-corporation, veteran mainstream media sponsored functions by engaging the power of her social network, promotions and marketing campaigns live or die by the ‘re-tweet’, and the local and national news alike pull threads and report direct from Facebook you’ve gotta take notice.
When the ‘Greasers’ take on the ‘Socs’ in the Outsiders you can’t help but wish that they would just meet in the middle. Get on the Inside, get your ‘Soc’ial Media on to connect in the fastest most effective way possible (if you stroke your keys right).
Where else can you catch a movie, write a review, post an audition, shop til you drop, take a look in a book, spread the word, declare your love, learn a trade, make a pitch and so much more.
Just ask local sensation Ryan McGarvey, fresh off Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival, what Social Networking helped do for him…

Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass, 500 Days of Summer) who already has two NM films under her belt (Let Me In, The Eye) will return later this year in the Taylor Lane Productions film, Hick – based on the novel and adapted screenplay by Andrea Portes.
The pre-embryonic dish on the dark drama, to be directed by Derick Martini, is that this will be the edgiest role yet for this young but seasoned actress, maybe shades of Jodi Foster à la Taxi Driver? As they say on the evening news…You heard it here first!
As we told you here the Fright Night remake will be shooting in New Mexico. The production is set to film July – October and is NOW calling for extras and background talent.

If you’re not working, auditioning or volunteering mañana perhaps you can take the scenic drive (aren’t they all) over to San Miguel County to ☮ peacefully support Ma Huckleberry in his bid to use his own damn property in any damn way he sees fit – (esp. when it WILL bring tourism to and promote NM) as it and he are dragged-out in front of the County Commish. + angry locals.
There’s this whole ☭ hullabaloo still a brewing over controversial remarks, “dangers” to the community, even racism, etc. etc. et ACLU.
Stop the H8 people. What is this really all about? I know racism, esp. when I’m often the only chocolate cookie on a plate of white bread sandwiches at the country club.
Some people love chocolate, other people give it the side-eye like it should be relegated to the kitchen or the nanny’s quarters (Camilla knows – For shame Harvey Levin staffers, that’s Camilla’s moms! Granny not Nanny).
Now these are incendiary remarks – this out of the mouths of babes (an angry, yet ~informed, diatribe of logorrhea that holds some valid points in its simple oft/sometimes offensive remarks) This Chicky is mad – but she knows how to spell freedom of speech.

“The series premiere of Scoundrels and The Gates gave ABC some bragging points for an otherwise ho-hum night of TV on Sunday: The Gates, which averaged 4.64 million viewers at 10 p.m., represented ABC’s strongest summer scripted series debut in five years. It won its time slot at 10 p.m. in the adult demographic and came in second in viewers behind CBS’ repeat of Cold Case.
Scoundrels averaged 5.17 million viewers at 9 p.m. and won its second half-hour in viewers. The two dramas also gave ABC a boost over last year in viewers and adults 18-49.” – EW

While the egg from which you sprung was with your momma since before she was even born, daddy’s DNA made you complete after just 65-74 days germinating in his eh, hmmm body (cloned from an originating/parent cell that remains with papa).
And as we all know any egg and sperm donor with a ~qualified “petri dish” and a “syringe” can make a baby, but it takes real men and women to raise one.
On this Father’s Day we wish you dads a very happy day, we thank those of you who aren’t ready or who are done for zipping or clipping, and most of all we are grateful for ALL the dads who’ve ever stepped-up and/or stepped-in because everybody needs their/a daddy (esp. the baby momma).
What you contribute to the greatness of your children changes the landscape of our world.
