As Seen on NM TV…
Actor RJ Mitte of the Emmy winning series Breaking Bad took the time to guest w/co-star Steven Michael Quezada on NM’s Own late night TV Talk Show, The After After Party.
At his tender age Mitte is an accomplished man with talent beyond his years who charmed the crowed and the camera with his easy wit and affability. He is certainly a star to watch for all of the above reasons and many more.
Mitte is an active member and spokesperson for the organization I AM PWD, which stands (quite literally) and works for Inclusion in the Arts & Media of People with Disabilities.
From the PMD Fact Sheet:
The U.N. estimates that there are 650 million people in the world living with a disability; the US Census says there are 56 million Americans with disabilities. They remain virtually invisible in media.
The GOALS
With the endorsement of the governing bodies of all three national unions, the I AM PWD Campaign and its growing network of union member activists and partners will focus on several areas throughout the duration of the campaign:
ACCESS, INCLUSION and ACCURACY.
- Creating a nationwide network of advocates both inside and outside of the entertainment and media industries.
- Work with the AFL-CIO to create a Disability Constituency Group within the federation.
- Eliminate the virtual exclusion and discrimination of persons with disabilities at all levels in the entertainment industry.
