Filming will take place on the weekend of May 28th and 29th in the New Mexico area (Albuquerque, Cerillos, Madrid).
Bandit Brand will be shot on Saturday the 28th and Heyoka Leather on Sunday the 29th. There is a chance that some models may be used for both clothing lines. The duration of each commercial will be approximately 60 – 120 seconds and will capture the essence of each brand through bold and visceral moving images set to awesome music.
The completed spots will be used for online promotion on the clothing line websites. Still photographs will also be taken on set and possibly used for online promotion on the clothing line websites.
Although this is not a paying gig we will be supplying meals, snacks, beverages, and compensation for gas. Models may also get to keep the clothing provided by the designers.
While we’re learning but scant tidbits from the intense media coverage of Marvel’s Avengers, currently in production here in NM, such as how Mark Ruffalo will achieve the Hulk Bulk, that Captain America will get a new costume for this side of the pond, that Thor says expect tension, and what the character set chairs look like…
Walt Disney co-owned Marvel Studios has begun production on the superhero blockbuster film “Marvel’s The Avengers”. There will be ongoing casting for day players, extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles in Albuquerque, Cleveland, and New York City throughout the entire production which will run through September 2010.
“Marvel’s The Avengers” is being produced by Marvel Studios’ President, Kevin Feige, and executive produced by Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Louis D’Esposito, Patty Whitcher, and Jon Favreau. Marvel Studios’ Jeremy Latcham and Victoria Alonso will co-produce.
Based on the hugely successful Marvel comic book series, “Marvel’s The Avengers” brings together the mightiest Super Hero characters as they all assemble together on screen for the first time. “Marvel’s The Avengers” is the first feature to be fully owned, marketed and distributed by Disney, which acquired Marvel in 2009. The studio’s plan for “Marvel’s The Avengers” is so enterprising that many of the starring actors involved in these recent Marvel superhero pictures have been signed with options for as many as nine films.
Shooting is taking place at Albuquerque Studios, and will also take place at Grumman Studios in Bethpage, New York, and at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn, New York City. Set construction at Steiner Studios is slated to begin in November and the production is expected to use the facility for months. There will be 2 months of filming in Cleveland, Ohio where over 2,000 extras are expected to be cast.
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has acquired worldwide distribution rights for “Marvel’s The Avengers” from Paramount for $115 million in a deal which also included Iron Man 3. “Marvel’s The Avengers” is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 4, 2012. » Read the full post

Errybody knows I follow & adore our local royalty a.k.a. all our beloved Telly and Radio personalities…but seriously what’s not to love about New Mexico celebs, which are all of us!
Now on to the news of the day regarding one of everybody’s favorite nightly news anchors:
Sure she’s always had an admirable bosom, sure the televised coverage of her wedding rivaled the princess making of mañana but some things are meant to be kept private! Until now…
I don’t know what prompted others in the community to pester Mrs. Ribando-Patrick on the status of her intra-uterual occupancy but according to the sweet promos currently running and running and running on KOAT 7, Shelly will be answering all your queries, what ever they may have entailed…and she will be ‘delivering’ an announcement about what she describes as herself looking “a little different” and reveal what she’s be trying to “hide a bit”. Tune in to the 10 o’clock news tonight for the big reveal you’ve been waiting for.
Whether you might have thought that that aforementioned bosom has become even more enviable or figured that in the traditional scheme of things that the time was rolling around for the relatively new-lyweds to procreate, you’ve apparently voiced some curiosities…I drew my own conclusion a few months ago just by hearing her voice…she delivered one line and I heard the raw nasal membranes that result from raging hormones…pobricita.
Well, from OHI we’d like to say that you look spectacular Shelly and we congratulate you on one of the most harrowing experiences one can embark upon! Buckle-up Mr. & Mrs. it’s sure to be an outrageous, amazing, wonderful, trying & beautiful ride – best wishes for a safe & healthy one!
You will likely be gifted or at least recommended the standard in gestational reading fare…I will cyber gift you this as a companion to that:
If you know me, you prolly know my affinity for pectorals (and shoulders), a certain Spiderman action figure (and a certain hubs)…but I digress with an opportunity to post my personal favorite image released from Dreamworks of the wholly NM Film FRIGHT NIGHT!
Not to be outdone by The Avengers (because I won’t let them), tight as they might be holding to the Fright Night movie trailer or even a teaser, or even a gosh darn official poster, SKG/Dreamworks has teased with a viewing of several clips of 3D footage of the film…and though nary hide nor hair of a New Mexican may have been present for the event we’re still blessed with a new image via CineMovie.tv – ¡woot¡
As we told you here Albuquerque’s own Willow Shields is making national, nay world news as the young talent who has been cast as Primrose Everdeen in the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ bestseller The Hunger Games.
OHI fave Jack Justice Brown is also making news that swells our hearts with joy, as the Albuquerque native too is cast in a rabid fan followed, bestselling novel adaptation – Odd Thomas is currently in production locally and NM’s beloved Jack Justice has landed the role of young Odd.
Both young actors were recently featured in the NM production of the Hallmark Hall of Fame original movie Beyond the Blackboard as premiered Easter Sunday on CBS – find it to see many of NM’s Own!
Major congratulations to these two New Mexicans for making great strides in their field and being true artists that we can all be proud of!
We haven’t been terribly successful in directly nominating or backing winning campaigns or contestants, though we were able to document a 1:2 cross country vie for a spot in the Avengers.
Our pick for last year’s FOF, reigning Golden Tumbleweed Favorite Actor Award Winner Steven Ray Byrd, and countless other New Mexicans whose cause or talents we’ve championed (including them there animals we’re trying to raise funds for – see the donation widget to your right) don’t quite get the recognition we lobby for.
So I won’t ask you to vote for this adorbs young man Anthony Almanza (below), or the sun shiny goodness of Dee Brown – the choice is yours all yours!
Watch ’em all, pick your fave and support ’em! Your vote is your complete video view so go to kasa.com to see them all. The chosen one will be your Face of Fox for the next year or so and will speak to and for our community for the duration and perhaps beyond…
If you’re some kind of TV personality superhero who can sweep in and take this you have until Friday April 29, 2011 at midnight to submit for consideration here.
The top ten viewed videos move on to the second round of selection beginning Monday May 2, 2011 – Good luck to all you talented contestants!
Much success and best wishes to all who enter! And adios to our out going face Michael Junchaya. Keep up with him on the social net. until we see him again in another gig!

UPDATE 4/25/11: Statement from the “Seen Team” here.
Re: Faceless Facebooker
If you have been besieged by snarky and convoluted comments, witness to the posted availability of major motion picture Press Passes for sale, the suggestion of Emmy winning television production access, confounded by the navigation, aggressive assertions and questionable intent of a certain website purported to be of the utmost value and importance to all involved or interested in New Mexico Film and production you are not alone.
Now I’m no English major (at least not one that completed even a part-time schedule of the first semester of a college English curriculum) but within most of these off-putting, rambling postings and comments it is hard to miss the juvenile spelling and grammatical errors that at times rival any overseas spam solicitation prompting you to retrieve your mail order bride, submit bank account information to collect your millions in foreign royal trust or purchase love-long-time meds…
Extraneous to the cloak of their Facebook campaign (under an admitted multitude of account names), suspicious craigslist postings and email messages have been floated around as brought to my attention by our own social networking contacts, website contributors and featured associates. The likes of which even prompting one of the most prominent casting agencies in our area to release a statement of disassociation…
And most directly offensive to this writer is the fact that the person(s) behind NM Seen has repeatedly hounded me on the Facebook account I manage for this site with harassing and befuddling remarks questioning my purpose and validity on the world wide web. I direct anyone with such concerns to this, our website which clearly communicates what we are about, specifically under a tab titled “About”.
Finally, the irony of being passive-aggressively cyber interrogated by an entity that is regularly perplexing to my friends and associates, which continuously proceeds to provide only the most grandiose to the most wildly inane answers to many of those whom inquire after their identity, prompted me to extend an offer to NM Seen to make themselves known to said friends, associates, et al in an on-the-spot phone interview for broadcast on our website (which would have been posted and parked under the “Audio” tab of our weblog). As you may well would have guessed the offer was declined in the grand yet empty style that “NM Seen” is becoming known for.
The transcript of which is available for you to read after the jump, plus a bonus music video tribute to this non-situation. That’s legal isn’t it? News agencies regularly report direct from the web pages of social networking sites, so surely this is an accepted as well as legal practice – most certainly NM Seen would know, as they appear to be experts on all things (okay, that was snarky). » Read the full post
