From ABC News:
BRIAN SCOTT (Judge): Brian Scott is a country singer/ songwriter and restaurateur from New Mexico who found global fame when he won the 2009 Karaoke National Championship USA title with a rendition of Elton John’s “Candle in the Wind” that some judges claim was better than the original. He went on to place sixth in the world championships and has been tapped to be a judge at the worlds this year in Ireland.
Our “cowboy karaoke” judge, Brian has first-hand experience of the pressure our contestants are under. He has recorded many of his own original songs and mentors other singers including the past two karaoke world champions. He has hosted and judged local, state and national contests. He also created and produced a two-man show called Two for the Road (2008) in Palm Springs, California where he was nominated for best male singer.
He is now a successful restaurateur of The Blue Goose Cafe in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Karaoke Battle USA “shines the spotlight on the best karaoke singers across the country.”
Joey Fatone (Backstreet Boys) will host, Carnie Wilson (Wilson Phillips) and Joe Levy (Commentator/Journalist) also serve as judges.
The show premieres Friday August 12 at 7 p.m. MST!
Thanks Angel

That Two and a Half Men mess on CBS isn’t the only XY drama in town.
In fact the reigning #1 Drama on television is maddeningly squashing the Gs out of our own beloved home grown production, Breaking Bad.
A busy bee buzz around Hollywoo is that AMC, the network for both Breaking Bad and Mad Men, is breaking the bank with the sleek, stylized, period piece dramz eating into the budget of the picturesque, perfectly scripted, expertly acted NM series.
The L.A. Times is reporting that Breaking Bad and other top show The Walking Dead are being asked to ax digits from their bottom line and the speculation is that those numbers will be used to line the pockets of Mad creator Matt Weiner.
First the scheduling melee that swept the Lead Actor Emmy right out of Cranston’s hands and undoubtedly into those of Mad’s leading man to this!
A fifth season of NM’s Own Breaking Bad is a go for the time being but the quantity, network and location may be up in the air.
For all we’ve ever had to say about the coveted New Mexico series click here and for a personal convo w/the stars pick-up the latest Weekly Alibi on stands now – featuring some riveting words from NM’s Own Br Ba star Steven Michael Quezada!
Season four of Breaking Bad airs Sunday nights on AMC and the high rollers of Mad Men will return in 2012 with their platinum plated season five (it is a pretty bad a** show, but come on New Mexico get on AMC about this sh*t – we can’t afford to lose the best show on television & we can’t even blame this mess on Susana).

Ladies FYI Victoria Beckham née Adams aka Posh Spice is the only woman in the world with clearance from the aliens to perpetrate their look and make it work.
And by “make it work”, I’m talking to you LeAnn. No matter how skinny you get, or how you manipulate those bolt-ons, or how many diamond rings you buy yourself, your husband‘s fidelity is up for grabs – as demonstrated by his cheating ways, as perpetrated with you!
Guilt mixed with insecurity – it’s a helluva drug. And I for one believe that THIS IS NOT THE LOOK. Please drop the Jack Skellington look and eat something like a heaping bowl of self confidence!

Conrad Hilton December 25, 1887 – January 3, 1979
Yes, the man who brought “Hilton to the world” and lent to contributing this general atrocity into the gene pool of humanity, Conrad Hilton is in fact a New Mexican.
Per Wikipedia: (By way of AMC’s inclusion of Hilton as a character in their Emmy winning series Mad Men)
Hilton was born in San Antonio, New Mexico. His father, Augustus Halvorsen “Gus” Hilton, was an immigrant from Norway, and his devout Catholic mother, Mary Genevieve (née Laufersweiler), was an American of German descent. Hilton grew up with seven siblings: Felice A. Hilton, Eva C. Hilton, Carl H. Hilton, Julian Hilton, Rosemary J. Hilton, August H. Hilton, and Helen A. Hilton.
Hilton attended Goss military institute (New Mexico Military Institute), and St. Michael’s College (now the College of Santa Fe), and the New Mexico School of Mines (now New Mexico Tech). He was a member of the international fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon. In his early twenties, Hilton was a Republican representative in the first New Mexico Legislature, when the state was newly formed. He served two years in the U.S. Army during World War I. While he was in the army, his father was killed in a car accident.[citation needed]
The most enduring influence to shape Hilton’s philanthropic philosophy beyond that of his parents was the Roman Catholic Church and his sisters. He credited his mother with guiding him to prayer and the church whenever he was troubled or dismayed — from a boyhood loss of a beloved pony to severe financial losses during the Great Depression. His mother continually reminded him that prayer was the best investment he would ever make.
