Award winning screenwriter Claudia Myers (Kettle of Fish) scripts and will direct the upcoming film, Fort Bliss. The independent war drama is the story of a female soldier who returns home after a long tour in Afghanistan struggling with traumatic emotions and trying to rebuild the relationship with her five year old son.

Michelle Monaghan (Due Date, Machine Gun Preacher, Source Code) is set to star. The $2M film will be produced by Myers, Brendan McDonald and Adam Silver.

Shooting is scheduled to begin June 2012 right here in New Mexico.

Variety reports that Fort Bliss is budgeted at around $2 million with filming is set to start June, 2012 in New Mexico.
