Getting into it: GLEEK OUT EDITION

Double, double toil and trouble, an actor’s journey is never overnight.

MELISSA BENOIST – As a teen, Benoist performed anonymously at Disneyland for three summers with the Academy of Theatre Arts run by Paul Dwyer and Alann Worley in Littleton. Local theater audiences watched Benoist grow up on area stages starring in productions like “Cinderella” and “Bye Bye Birdie” at Town Hall Arts Center, and as Peron’s young mistress the Country Dinner Playhouse’s final production, “Evita.” In 2006, The Denver Post named Benoist one of Colorado’s five “Can’t Miss Kids.”

Fast-forward to her first day on the “Glee” set, when was reduced to fangirl sitting 10 feet away from Matthew Morrison, who plays teacher Will Schuester. “I just kept staring at him, saying to myself, ‘Is this my life?’ ” she said. “I saw him on Broadway in ‘A Light in the Piazza.’ Seeing him right there in front of me was surreal.”

A&E TV WANTS YOU FOR 15 SECONDS of FAME

Bates Motel Executive Producer, Carlton Cuse, has a challenge for you: submit your video for a chance to create the official Bates Motel on A&E opening title sequence!

A&E’s Bates Motel :15 Second Title Sequence Contest is open to legal residents of the United States or the District of Columbia, who are at least eighteen years old or older at the time of entry.

The Contest entry period begins at 12:00 Noon EST on December 5, 2012 and ends at 11:59 P.M. EST on January 3, 2013. Contest entries will be judged by an A&E appointed panel from on or about January 4, 2013 – January 5, 2013.

During the Contest Entry Period, visit the “Bates Motel :15 Second Title Sequence Contest” application here, follow the onscreen prompts to complete all required registration information and to then upload an approximately fifteen (15) second video showcasing your idea for the approximately fifteen (15) second opening title sequence of A&E’s upcoming new drama series Bates Motel
