Longtime friend to the New Mexico Film Industry, world renowned actor, director and producer, Robert Redford has signed on to executive produce the New Mexico independent feature film, “DRUNKTOWN’S FINEST” (formerly Dry Land).
Earlier this month the New Mexico Film Office announced that the film would be shooting in Santa Fe, Española and Gallup through early August.
“Drunktown’s Finest” is the story of three Native American teenagers, an adopted Christian girl, a rebellious father-to-be, and a promiscuous friend who strive to escape the hardships of life on an Indian reservation.
The film is directed by Gallup native Sydney Freeland (Hoverboard, The Migration), produced by Santa Fe resident Chad Burris (Splinter, The Killer Inside Me) and Española native Mateo Frazier (Delia, Torcida). The production will employ approximately 20 New Mexico crew members and 20 principals and background talent.
“Drunktown’s Finest” stars New Mexico native Jeremiah Bitsui (Natural Born Killers, Brothers), most recently seen in his very dramatic exit from the Emmy Award winning, AMC series Breaking Bad.
