“Over 20 students from the Public Academy for Performing Arts star in this Public Service Announcement for the New Mexico Film Industry, the New Mexico Film Office, [and] the New Mexico Public Education Department.” – PAPA
Yesterday – It’s been many, many yesterdays since we’ve been telling you that Robert Pattinson would soon hit Nuevo México and it looks like he’s been tippy-toeing around. The face that regularly launches tweens and house fraus alike into a manic frenzy was spotted in the City Different (Santa Fe) over the weekend. He and his co-stars in the forthcoming Unbound Captives are likely prize candidates for ushering in the new dawn of Paparazzi scouting going on in NM…
Today – It is official that the eagerly awaited Passion Play starring Mickey Rourke, Megan Fox, Rhys Ifans, Bill Murray, Kelly Lynch will make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this month (Sept. 9-19).
Mañana – It is being reported that Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage will star in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s upcoming Bollywood gangster movie Broken Horses coming soon to New Mexico. As we have previously published Mickey Rourke is also slated to star.
Some ppl. call him Big, some ppl. call him Mr., I call him peace, love & happiness in human form (a.k.a. the walking equivalent of maximum strength paxil), but most of all I’m lucky to call him friend!
Intimate Myspace worthy pics rampant among teens in texts and twitpics…appropriate for these mature stars?
Lisa Rinna (left) takes her animal print bikini for a whirl in front of her own bathroom mirror in answer to NM’s Own Demi Moore who self published this racy twitpic (right) earlier this week…
New Mexico has no shortage of talent and this lovely lady is an exceptional example of that rule.
I know, I know – another beautiful New Mexican, but beauty is just one of her attributes.
On the catwalk, in front of the lens, under the lights or signing, this model, actress, interpreter is Diana Gaitiria and we’d be remiss not to take notice.
Among the many who are passionate about this novel is local investigative reporter extraordinaire and fan, Jeremy Jojola who was recently able to sit down with New Mexican author Rudolfo Anaya who shares his feelings about his classic work, Bless Me Ultima moving onto film.
Here’s hoping we catch at least a glimpse of each of thee above (Jojola à la Transformers and Anaya à la Stan Lee in Spider-Man), and many, many more locals in front of and behind the camera.

Or they’re coming anyway and looking to hire from within. We’re all for creating more work for natives, HOWEVER…
Ahhemm, incoming madame Governess perhaps t’is time to look into what/how this shall be regulated. Oui? Ou non?
Personally I’ve long been awaiting it as an inevitability, torn between the positive exposure of our great state, preserving the privacy and integrity of our home grown productions and the possibility of spawning the pure evil, sprung from photog seeking/feeding media wh-ores.
We’ve said it before – there will eventually be the need for regulation here as in the Governator’s state – better sooner than later? Chime in & chime up NM.

The biggest wine fest in the state is a great Summer wrap party – music, arts, food and of course great wine. It’s always a hot crowd, fun peeps, good times…
It’s been a long time since Demi Moore was a but a child from Roswell New Mexico. She’s experienced quite the trajectile ride from Area 51 to center stage/screen, global dogooding, to gyrating on rappers and her youthful hubs.
But something the Dems ain’t done es una película de Nuevo México. Yes, from the time she absconded to and conquered La, la land, to her infamous purchases of small town America and commendable humanitarian efforts…N. Mex hasn’t seen much of ‘er.
Let’s git’ wit Mrs. Kutcher (@mrskutcher) and ask her when she’s coming home, who does she want for her home state’s first Governess, when she’s gonna make a flick here, etc., etc.
Because we is good people – from So. Nem. to North 40 and everywhere in-between, whose booming film industry could really use a boost from her wattage – a little love from the Roswellian could result in more j-o-b-s which she could help parlay in to more philanthropic ways from we her neglected homies.
Before you hate on me (y’all didn’t even know she did half this stuff till I tol’ you) for bein’ hater I ain’t hatin’ I’m just callin’ a sister back home.
The Dems is currently betwixt Chi-town, Motor City and Gay Paree shooting the sure to be cinematic gold LOL: Laughing Out Loud with Miley Cyrus (who filmed her BIG Hannah Montana movie in her home state of Tennessee…hmmmm).
Maybe Dems, Kutch and the affable Willis can star in the sure to be remade Threesome, N. Mex Style…a.k.a. two slabs of beef with extra cheese!
And p.s. if Moore has any trouble finding us…NPH can show her the way

Oscar winner Ryan Bingham and The Dead Horses Band release Junky Star today.
Here’s what the Washington Post had to say about the NM native:
“Junky Star, also produced by [T-Bone] Burnett, isn’t the showy, big-budget career-solidifier it might have been; luckily, it’s precisely the sort of underplayed album Bingham might have made if his Hollywood detour had never happened.
Bingham wraps his hoarse, well-worn voice — the aural equivalent of Marlboros and Levis 501s — around a collection of barroom folk songs that, musically and thematically, cast back to vintage Dylan and, more specifically, “Nebraska”-era Springsteen.” – Allison Stewart
Toni Collette did not take home a statue this year but was awarded the Emmy last year for lead actress in a drama series for the United States of Tara (Edie Falco got the award this year for Nurse Jackie). Collette is currently in town filming Fright Night.
Resident designer, part time director and “rancher” Tom Ford dressed the event’s host, Jimmy Fallon among other nominees, winners and presenters.
Temporary New Mexican Joan Allen, was up for lead actress in her NM film Georgia O’Keeffe which was nominated for Best TV Movie, Art Direction, Best Casting, Best Directing, Best Hairstyling, Best Makeup, Best Music Composition and Best Costumes. – HELLO!
You memmer him, he and his gorgeous familia – who shared their awesome pics with all of us. Oh of course you know his name…as does THREE time consecutive winner for lead actor in a drama series Bryan (standing ovation from TOM HANKS) Cranston!!! (as heard above)
With a blog post almost as vast and colorful as our NM vistas, actress Olivia Wilde waxes romantic over the beauty and goodness of our capital city.
The Cowboys and Aliens star regularly tweeted little glimpses of her observations and experiences these many months of filming in the Land of Enchantment and she bids us adieu in this quaint novella where she wraps with:
“I have really enjoyed my experience in Santa Fe, and there is so much more I could write about (maybe I will) but for now, consider this a love letter to the above mentioned ingredients to my happy summer in my latest home away from home.”
Thank you Miss Wilde for the love letter that leaves us so much warmer and fuzzier than the the online morning after cab fair on the nightstand that is a Tweety-bye-bye.
Don’t forget to join our quest to get the likes of Cowboys back to NM for a local premiere gala!
