NEW Mexican Steven Michael Quezada and NM’s favorite son Neil Patrick Harris

The reigning King and Queen of New Mexico Steven Michael and Cherise Quezada hit the red carpet in L.A. today with their eldest daughter (who’s easily giving those young stars a run for their money), direct from Homiewood to Hollywood as part of the incredibles a.k.a. the cast & crew of AMC’s original series Breaking Bad.

As we’ve ~reported here before the world renowned series is up for 7 awards tonight including best drama series and best lead actor for Bryan Cranston (his third nom, w/two previous wins!!!).

Native New Mexican’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Neil Patrick Harris (above) also in da’ house! Tune in to E! for pre-show interviews and NBC for the live awards show hosted by Jimmy Fallon.

Meteor or Cowboy? Favs….

Posted by Sindicator on August 3, 2010 | No comments

“A meteor exploded in the atmosphere near Santa Fe, New Mexico just before 5 a.m. on the morning of July 31. Local amateur radio astronomer Thomas Ashcraft captured the event from his personal observatory using an all-sky optical video camera developed by Sandia National Laboratories that is specifically sensitive to the near infrared flashes that meteors create.

The video only contains the first part of the fireball’s four-minute-long echo captured by Ashcraft’s antennas. Forward scatter radar is different from traditional radar detection because instead of sending out a cone of radio waves, it uses waves that are already beaming in the ionosphere. – Via Wired Science

Was this truly weird science or did a little production in Northern N. Mex have a little something to do with this???

Jon Favreau’s Cowboys and Aliens has been shooting for a couple of months now – perhaps une grande finale?

Unemployed on the Web, NM

Posted by Sindicator on July 31, 2010 | 2 comments

Much like Hollywood of old, NYC of all time, and Cleveland as of late, being a free agent can lend to the extremes of being either very lucrative or stringless y penniless (como moi).

Here in New Mexico I found two contemporaries in the latter category both striving to make their way while ~reveling in their disenfranchisement in two very different ways:

Amassing thousands of cross country hatemongers followers with usually impeccable grammar and unbridled rage the Manwife indiscriminately bashes the desert in which his been transplanted, famously listing his location alternatingly as “sand hole hell” and a “giant cat box” complete with vlogs and snarky posts of his unhappiness and misadventures as a self described “Manwife”. Both his blog and tweets alike seem to entertain many as we’ve been able to follow along while he literally counts down and comments on the many days he spends between jobs.

Conversely, NM Radio’s Big Benny runs a tighter ship and an upright one. Appealing to a local base he regales his followers, friends and fans with timely quips, observations and advice-lite. In a mix of spanglish and contempo lingo Benny relates with peers and community alike. The positive and contemplativeness in his output has led the radio DJ back to the airwaves, a virtual campaign he led after becoming chopping block fodder of ‘the man’ over a year ago.

Big Benny’s positive and amiable disposition has brought him gainful employment, through the professional and social network contacts he’s maintained but the Manwife does have his own Ads by Google under his “Pay My Bills” section as well as a Donate button.

So what ever your flavor either of these two New Mexicans have much to say for sayings sake.

And if either of these two b*tches get a book or movie deal à la that Julia Child blogette I wanna git’ ma cut for noting them!

But, p.s. the most reluctantly prolific writer, poet and philosopher of our time better get his book an’ movie deal before anyone else!

Hype Nation 10% N. Mex.

Posted by Sindicator on June 15, 2010 | No comments

American music producer Teddy Riley (Michael Jackson, John Legend, Pussycat Dolls) has assembled a seven girl group of performers expected to strut their skills in the upcoming Korean 3-D film Hype Nation.

Riley is slated to debut the group in Korea, then Thailand and China this fall. By winter an entire Hype Nation global tour will be underway.

This potential global “supergroup” is expected to be signed by American label Interscope Records. The debut single and the bulk of the highly anticipated 3-D movie will be crafted in Korea – but at least a portion is expected to be filmed in New Mexico.

The movie will also star American born actor/dancer/rapper Jay Park and is an investment of CJ and Universal International.

p.s. No confirmation yet on whether our beloved Cowboys and Aliens will be first to show NM in 3D.

Mouse in the House: Part Deux, Trois, Quatre

Posted by Sindicator on May 28, 2010 | One comment

The Walt Disney Company is quietly dotting the state with their mouse ears as the entertainment GIANT’s long reach includes Marvel, ABC and The Disney Channel, all of which are sowing New Mexico roots.

Thor is bound to dominate the big screen next spring, the Q spot is the backdrop for network TV’s Scoundrels starting in June, and the purported next High School Musical, Lemonade Mouth is getting set to employ and roll in New Mexico.

Even ESPN regional television resides in the Mouse House. ESPN happens to operate the New Mexico Bowl – our very own college bowl game, set to air on the national stage ESPN will provide to millions of viewers on December 18 this year.

And as we ~reported here, the Bowl’s title sponsorship is still up for grabs…

If it’s not quite in your budget to buy your own bowl don’t fret, but be sure to dust off your monogrammed mouse ears and put on your perma-smile ’cause NM is poised to join the billion dollar club!

ICYMI: New Mexico native Neil Patrick Harris guested on that Fox runaway hit show Glee.

NPH rocked a cover song sing off à la Train circa the then Journal Pavilion 2002 (those pop/contempo boys killed it – ‘member? You ‘member).

You may have recently seen the mega star making a cameo in the hilarious local commercial for the Harris family Albuquerque restaurant Perennials. Tweet ‘em up @ActuallyNPH.

What the Whack?!?

Posted by Sindicator on April 30, 2010 | One comment

Here’s the whack-tacular mess that is the official poster for the upcoming Sex and the City part deux.

This outrageous mess is making all kinds of waves for its lack of photoshop artistry. The Sindicator agrees. They may as well have just magnetic lassoed Kim Catrall’s head right off the Mannequin movie poster.

Better still is the ‘official’ KRQE and the City poster (below). You can see the moving parts version of the doctored Sex and the City crew starting May 27 and the real, foxy ladies of KRQE in their new studio diggs sooooon.

Sho’ Nuff The Pack is Back

Posted by Sindicator on April 16, 2010 | No comments

D’Smilz, unidentified female, Bro Fly, Xoxo, Little Sexy, Toots, Viv, Mugsy

Sightings of NM’s Own Brat Pack on whole have been few and far between since the early dawn of 2010.

The Pack’s been busy – what with the boys upcoming spread in JQ, photographed exclusively in the all new, sexy Pajama Jeans for Men and the ladies working so hard in the Q all the while fighting off those pesky romance rumors, linking them from everyone from Channing Tatum to Jamie Foxx.

The Pack’s people tell ©Sindication exclusively that though all three ladies have ties to some very sought after men of Hollywood old and new there are no sordid details to report.

In this never before seen promo shot you get a bizarrely lit hint of what it’s like to hang with this famous party Pack. For the real life impression of their actual WOWNESS, you may only hope to catch-up with them during their upcoming social appearances in the Q this weekend.

Hint: You won’t find ‘em down. They’ll be all Q’d up this Friday.

To book the Pack for your party or promotion you can contact their handlers here.

Snarkiest Post to Date

Posted by Sindicator on April 9, 2010 | No comments

This is what the new SnC trailer looks like to me, just replace the pig face w/a horse face et Voila!

But seriously that’s just a moment of the whole trailer – where the epitome of SnC is showcased – that being Liza w/a Z and the incomparable ‘Stanford’. The rest aims squarely toward the BEST thing that ever happened on that show AIDEN!!!

Seriously. Ladies, you can mess-up with one “Aiden” but you better not move on to stupid the next time ’round. What is that called in super, whorrendous, whore mongering world – a Mulligan?

Anyforreals, here is the real SNC movie trailer via my slightly better looking, separated at birth-twin-sister Michael K (ilovehimsooomuch!!).

In other movie news – Everyone please stop crying about the possibility of R. Patz getting the Cobain role. And we’re still holding a candle light vigil that Nut Butter Boy gets the Spidey reboot role – amen.

And lastly to get you through the weekend – if anything gets ya’ down, stare at the pic in the previous post. Those two fugs are hypnotizing. Thank you Jon Favreau.

Backlot adjacent, or under roof in studio this compilation of Stargate Studios ’09 green screen magic shows just how readily the stunning use of technology transforms a set shoot into a realm of infinite possibilities.

New Mexico is at the ready to tread into that realm and beyond. Encanto, the third largest supercomputer in the world housed in Rio Rancho, New Mexico – is tapped by eight different colleges and universities in the state so far, including digital film students at Santa Fe Community College.

Her not-so-under-cover romance with the brother of actor Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek) lands her three Scoville’s of separation from NM.

As we’ve been reporting for you, Chris will be striking his most muscley poses this Spring here in NM filming THOR, with Natalie Portman, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo and anyone else who can snake a role…
