UPDATE 06/19/11: The Duke DukeCity Darlins helped raise over $20,000 in the Katelynn Stinnett Annual National Memorial Ride of New Mexico.

This effort by the Darlins, Thunderbird Harley-Davidson, Hard Rock-Albuquerque, & PB&J Family Services will benefit New Mexico children and families who are suffering in toxic situations by providing assistance and education in the fight to end child abuse and neglect.

It looks like the national crusade for abstinence has a new face on the same old, young spokesperson. “Teen advocate” Bristol Palin showed off her new Kardash-like locks, framing a very different looking mug today on Good Morning America.

The abstinence preacher appears to have been Gretta Van Susterened – but unlike the adult news anchor who drew the YOWZAS from her audience and beyond when she got all life-style lift like, Palin may now also be seen as an advocate for major and pricey cosmetic makeovers if not full facial reconstruction for those just out of their teens.

Preserve an egg, reserve an egg…the precious human ova (above) – Unfertilized, unharmed, unailed.

Females are born with their ovaries and all of the approximately 2 million “eggs” they will ever have, which formed in the second trimester of fetal development.

And as I’ve regaled you with before, the highest U.S. birth rates are recorded in July and August translating to most impregnations occurring in and around November.

That is why today’s been officially designated (in my mind) as “Preserve an Egg Day”, it is this day in “Zip Your Pants and Close Your Legs” (ZPCL) MONTH that I invite you to talk with girls and women in your life to remind them of just how precious every one of their millions of ova really are.

With us since before our own birth and with us til death when brought forth as to become another human being. It’s your body, it’s your call – reserve that egg or step-up in a big, big way. You seminal carriers are invited and celebrated over these holidays too!

Please refrain from unleashing your insemination if you can’t make what springs forth as a result the center of your universe and/or if your ovarian target isn’t already the most important person in your life.

Lastly, you know those horrific news reports of what goes on in this world? From the disgruntling to the completely disturbing? Spare everyone some of that by preserving an egg today!

Queens-up Nicely

She nearly had me at sapphire blue dress…but the woman on the verge of becoming Princess Katherine the Great makes an even better show in her request for support and awareness of anti-bullying efforts.

Among the list of organizations that Prince William and his Lady have asked their supporters to benefit in lieu of wedding gifts is Beatbullying – a group that work[s] intensively with those so deeply affected by bullying that they can barely face going to school that next morning.

According to the flurry of media reports surrounding the future Queen – she experienced long-term difficulties, suffering through the throws of pre-teen bullying – talk about IT GETS BETTER! Good show Kate!

And now from one Queen to another…I admired his humble beginnings, loathed his wicked ways and now admire his change.

With the rash of child and young-adult suicides bringing the evils of bullying to the forefront of decent human consciousness many called-out one who was perceived as one of the biggest cyber-bullies of all time – in fact Mario was a long time victim of the aim of the evil that is harassment, name-calling, and outright blind hate.

With that background in tow – the coffee shop success of his snarky multimillion dollar online life began – but with the clarity that comes after tragedy the Queen of online mean turned a new leaf, a kinder, gentler exposé of the gossip we hold so dear (you know you do – admitting it is the first step).

And with that, “Hollywood’s most hated” website was re-monikered to “Hollywood’s most sassy…“, vulgar scribbles turned sillier, and words less hateful more punny. We didn’t hear much about this being publicized, but then why would it get press – hateful gets far more headlines.

Lesson Learned: It gets better when we get better, don’t be a bully Susana!

“I have bad news for you, for all of our fellow citizens, and people who love peace all over the world, and that is that Martin Luther King was shot and killed tonight.

Martin Luther King dedicated his life to love and to justice for his fellow human beings, and he died because of that effort.

In this difficult day, in this difficult time for the United States, it is perhaps well to ask what kind of a nation we are and what direction we want to move in. For those of you who are black — considering the evidence their evidently is that there were white people who were responsible — you can be filled with bitterness, with hatred, and a desire for revenge. We can move in that direction as a country, in great polarization — black people amongst black, white people amongst white, filled with hatred toward one another.

Or we can make an effort, as Martin Luther King did, to understand and to comprehend, and to replace that violence, that stain of bloodshed that has spread across our land, with an effort to understand with compassion and love.

For those of you who are black and are tempted to be filled with hatred and distrust at the injustice of such an act, against all white people, I can only say that I feel in my own heart the same kind of feeling. I had a member of my family killed, but he was killed by a white man. But we have to make an effort in the United States, we have to make an effort to understand, to go beyond these rather difficult times.

My favorite poet was Aeschylus. He wrote: “In our sleep, pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God.”

What we need in the United States is not division; what we need in the United States is not hatred; what we need in the United States is not violence or lawlessness; but love and wisdom, and compassion toward one another, and a feeling of justice toward those who still suffer within our country, whether they be white or they be black.

So I shall ask you tonight to return home, to say a prayer for the family of Martin Luther King, that’s true, but more importantly to say a prayer for our own country, which all of us love — a prayer for understanding and that compassion of which I spoke.

We can do well in this country. We will have difficult times; we’ve had difficult times in the past; we will have difficult times in the future. It is not the end of violence; it is not the end of lawlessness; it is not the end of disorder.

But the vast majority of white people and the vast majority of black people in this country want to live together, want to improve the quality of our life, and want justice for all human beings who abide in our land.

Let us dedicate to ourselves to what the Greeks wrote so many years ago: to tame the savageness of man and make gentle the life of this world.
Let us dedicate ourselves to that, and say a prayer for our country and for our people.”

I had to look long and hard (pi) to find a pic that didn’t look like a Vivid cover shot (I almost had to resort to a pic of her hobbit-like thumb, because she just can’t get away with looking like that all over!), to accompany this very serious post to declare that try I as I might to resist her I have fallen for the Fox. I now stand with Mickey?!?

Rather than spending her time trying to come-up with a deliciously stoopid sex tape name, rehab stint, lesbian faux-mance etc., etc., Megan Fox remains a steadfast star.

From a graceful exit from x-formers, to the best APS applicable PSA I’ve ever seen to her charitable donations left and right, I must now take stock in those whose opinions I value in the anyway and join ‘em in their love of the Fox.

This story of how the young actress recently donated her pay from a video shoot to a domestic violence shelter won’t get one one-millionth of the play racist, misogynistic, tyrannical rage or Ambien laced whore-mongering garners these days, but I hope you’ll spread the word and awareness about getting out, standing-up and stopping the violence til it’s as prevalent as the the oh-so steamy pics of the little miss turned Mrs. above.

World Refugee Day and Father’s Day are one in the same day – Coincidence? I think not. A stupid little blogette, namely ME is going to initiate the first annual zip your pants and close your legs day (ZPCL)!

It will be sometime in November as the highest U.S. birth rates are recorded in July and August translating to most impregnations occurring in and around November (Sarah Palin may wish to celebrate in March when her teenage daughter became pregnant).

Bristol Palin is doing her part to contribute to ZPCL day by introducing an iPhone app. of a baby crying non-stop for 30 seconds.

Philanthropists of the millenium, Bill and Melinda Gates need to take a sit down with me and parooz the preliminary chapters of my forthcoming book entitled, “Why it’s Easier to Make a Baby Than to Buy a Bag of Doritos”. These impassioned dogooders are spending BILLIONS vaccinating the impoverished all over the globe.

I’s here to tell ‘em, that the most powerful vaccine and the most effective of the three components of World Peace is BIRTH CONTROL. This quote from the lovely Melinda grates on every neuron of sensibility.

Yes, please do not forget those suffering to the extent of how much harder it is to care for two (three, four and FIVE) starving mouths above your own – think of all the earthquake babies, the tsunami babies, hurricane babies, because from all these world catastrophes to right next door (to Russia) it truly remains “Easier to Make a Baby Than to Buy a Bag of Doritos”.

So while ~we fund water, refuge and vaccinations can we please put a think on personal health and sexual education!??!?!?

KRQE 13 News/coverage of The Bataan Memorial Death March.

The annual trek is a tribute to the tens-of-thousands of World War II Veterans who were surrendered to enemy forces in 1942, thousands lost their lives under the torturous conditions which they were marched through the Philippine jungle. Only over 500 soldiers were eventually rescued as POW’s in 1945.

DWI New Mexico Shame

Knowledge is power people. For example I now know, I love the tequila! This is relatively ~new to me as I didn’t drink until well after I was 21. I was busy with other things – nothing nefarious, and not busy like those people who say obnoxious things like, “I don’t watch television – I’m too busy.” Like I’m dumb or something because I want my idiot box on 24/7, anythink…

Reflecting upon this information and the responsibility that is mine if I choose to drink, I thought of what a pitiful, deplorable, negligent, disgraceful, wretched, shameful, poor job New Mexico is doing in preventing DWI.

We’re pathetic. Campaign after campaign, a Czar, Task Force(s), etc., etc., blah, blah, blah. And we are still a showcase for the most bizarre, most grievous DWI homicides and infractions across all reaches of our state, from our largest city, to our capital city, and our smallest towns. Pa-the-TIC!

Enjoy the drink? Sure, but if you’re rockin’ the tequila, a fine brew, or some smooth wine – YOU ARE IMPAIRED. You are the 900 lb. man afflicted with beyond morbid obesity who had to be cut out his house by firefighters. You are the wartime casualty of a roadside bomb, you are incapable of moving under your own power. That’s on all of us that’s our part. We also need to keep our hands in the voting process, fingers on our telephones and emails to demand our government, he, hmm, Mr. Richardson/Ms. Denish, Mr. Mayor, Mr. Congressman, Senator, Judges, court staff – ENFORCE some DWI laws.

Global – As seen on GMA today, former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager steps back into her humanitarian shoes promoting the UNICEF initiative “Project Sprinkles“. For less than the price of your daily crack-attack at Starbucks ($3.50) UNICEF can provide a child with 100% their daily allowance of vitamins, critical for healthy physical and mental development, for one year.

Local – KOAT 7 has launched their 9th annual school supply drive. Basic supplies are in high demand for area school children. KOAT and Albuquerque Public Schools are accepting donations at local Smith’s Grocery Stores, Ashley Furniture Homestore, New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Unions or at the station July 20 – August 16. Monetary donations are also welcome at New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Unions locations.

Plagued pugilist, Johnny Tapia was sent back to the clink yesterday after committing an alleged parole infraction by traveling within the state, but out of the city to aid in the search and raise awareness about his missing relative without notifying his parole officer.

Tapia will remain in jail until at least July 30 and faces additional “habitual offender” charges that could result in a one year sentence. Tapia’s 29-year-old cousin Aurthur Chavez remains missing.

Yesterday Magistrate Court Judge Delilah Montano-Baca released a ~man arrested by authorities last week, who is charged with 42 (FORTY-TWO IIIII IIIII IIIII IIIII IIIII IIIII IIIII IIIII II) counts of the child rape of his own granddaughters.

The judge released the suspect without bond or conditions. KRQE reports that the Sandoval County District Attorney is asking Judge Baca to reconsider her decision.
