“What I have learned in these months after the election is that my lifelong love affair with New Mexico, her people, her needs, and her politics won’t end. I promised to stick around and fight for our families and I intend to do so.”
Former Lieutenant Governor of New Mexico, Diane Denish reflects on where she’s been, what lies ahead and the issues facing our great state as she sees them since she’s been charting a course outside the Governor’s seat where she and many of us were passionately compelled to see her – if only.
Chief among her current concerns for the overall health & well being of New Mexico, just as during her 2010 campaign for Governor, is job creation naming, “technology, arts, culture, film, Labs, and human capitol” as a few of our most valuable assets in achieving sustainable employment for New Mexicans.

New Mexico WILL have her first female Governor come November. Who will represent NM to the world? Get out and VOTE on or before November 2.
Remember entire lives are lived and lost to protect your right to vote – Use it.
Friends of equality and human rights, you deserve to know that your candidates for Governor of New Mexico stand very divided on this as well as most other important issues:
“I have fought to eliminate discrimination of any kind throughout my career and I support the domestic-partnership bill,” – Diane Denish
“I would not sign the domestic partnership bill. It is unnecessary and ill-advised…Rushing this bill through the Legislature demonstrates that the Richardson/Denish administration has its priorities misplaced,”
- Susana Martinez
Above, New Mexico’s Own Jesse Tyler Furgeson (JTF) and his co-star Eric Stonestreet accept the HRC’s National Arts and Culture Award for their Emmy winning series, Modern Family.
Today ma’ Huckleberry was at the Roundhouse to speak with opponents of El Majico‘s film tax incentives, regaling them and KOB-TV with a riviting tale about how Bill Gates was turned away from the Q back in the 70′s when he was looking for a $15K loan for his NM trademarked start-up Microsoft.
To vote or not to vote? It’s like that point in your life when you have to get out of a toxic relationship but it just seems so much easier to stay. Maybe because you don’t think your vote will count, like when you lack the confidence of knowing that you can do better. Change seems hard and settling may feel safer, like when you’re used to your bad relationship and staying is easier than the work of raising your standards, expecting more and moving on.
You can’t do better – You can
You can change him – You can’t
You think he’s cheating on you – He is
You don’t feel like a priority – You’re not
He’ll leave her for you – He won’t
Things will eventually change – They won’t
ABQ’s significant other in Mayor Martin Chavez is up for an unprecedented 4th term, because he petitioned to stay with us. Like the not-so-significant other of your yesteryear who would make grand gestures, or big promises, to stay in the game, but may only come through here and there with a little weekend getaway or a fancy dinner – paltry in comparison to a partner who truly, sincerely stands by you, works to make things better for everyone around them with their selfless deeds, action and follow-through.
Will ABQ. stay with the portly spender, with stars in his eyes, who promises “visions” and grandeur, or will ABQ. collectively grow-up and into an adult relationship with a partner who goes to bat for them. If we’ve been cheated on and lied to, plied with I’m sorries or befuddled with excuses it’s probably time to move on. Kick the cad to the curb, take responsibility for yourself, do what you can do to improve ABQ. starting with a clean slate. You have to look at the facts and the record – ABQ. when it comes to Marty Chavez, He’s Just Not That Into You.
VOTE Oct. 6
Earn it, be voted it. Say it, own it. Didn’t say it, prove it. As they said back at the plant, “Do what you say, say what you do.”
Last week there was a minor hullabaloo in the local blogosphere and across television & radio airwaves as the incumbent ABQ. Mayor spoke his ~mind and apparently proclaimed himself the most “successful” mayor in the city’s history in a campaign video that was swiftly deleted and rebuked.
Decide for yourself by listening to the audio with 770KKOB Mornings show host Bob Clark as posted here.
And decide which direction you want to take Albuquerque when you cast your vote on Oct. 6.
This obviously doctored compilation of celebrities who’ve spoken out about their political ~thoughts is a simple reminder that these fools are just regular people and the only vote that counts is yours. So I hope all we fools get out and vote on October 6 in the Albuquerque Mayoral Race.
Brace for an onslaught of Paris Chavez smiling face photos at all city sites and sights while doing your mayoral candidate research. You may still register to vote in Bernalillo County – no later than 28 days prior to an election.
p.s. Sorry about the extra ear on ya’ in this photoshop experiment Mr. Ro-Mayor.
In today’s edition of Popular Politics – Say what you will about proposed healthcare reform by the current administration. All I can speak to is my personal experience in which at least one Barack-o-tunity is working and what’s going on in an area where there’s none.
We took advantage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Tax Act by installing energy efficient windows in our home. The local business that benefited from our purchase made no fewer than four follow-up calls to ensure our satisfaction with their products and services over the process of demo and installation.
On the other hand our relative has been in and out of hospitals, urgent care and emergency rooms for months now following a flawed emergency surgery. Said relative has had to demand test results, after being largely ignored or dismissed by multiple “care providers”, which revealed a physical malady that will require additional surgery to prevent another critical situation.
All the energy efficient windows are holding up well, our relative is awaiting the next available Operating Room appointment.
Since petitioning the Supreme Court to disregard term limits in January 2008, Chavez has been unofficially campaigning by dominating news coverage, garnering headlines, and literally plastering his name and face on city issues and objects on the city’s dime.
Well, the dime’s up on that tawdry peep-show. And now that he’s going “official” the currently nauseating level of Paris Chavez coverage will likely hit a fever pitch. Already averaging at least 3:1 mentions over the legitimately declared candidates for Mayor we’re in danger of being exposed to even more gratuitous mentions of every portly move he makes or makes-up.
Brace yourselves – this “I see you, but you can’t see me” toilet may well be the jumping off point for the sitting Mayor’s campaign (pun intended). Turn that glass around and it’ll be, “You see me, but I can’t see you!” Allll the way through to October.
Declared and prepared Albuquerque Mayoral Candidate Richard Romero has a new campaign web-site. As in many other instances of declared candidates running a legitimate campaign, we haven’t seen any local news coverage of the informational, voter friendly site.
Instead today’s news was peppered with Paris Chavez‘s ability to use Twitter guised as more tax payer City funded “initiatives”. The third-term Mayor has yet to declare himself a candidate – despite there being only ~15 weeks til’ the election to REPLACE HIM.
“With a proven track record of leadership, experience and cooperation, Richard M. Romero aims to change the way Albuquerque does business.
October 6th, 2009 is the day Albuquerque citizens take back their city.”
- Richard Romero for Mayor.com
©Sindication is proud to endorse Richard Romero for the next Mayor of Albuquerque. But like so many other snippets of info. out there that doesn’t mean a darn thing. All that matters is YOUR vote Albuquerque.
Your other Candidate for Mayor on Oct. 6, 2009 is Richard J. Berry.
Lesson Learned: If not for you…exercise your rights for those who have ~none.

The omnipresent name and face of Chavez is causing a stir among the declared candidates who thankfully get some play in letting it be known that the surreptitious campaigning (e.g. the spontaneous onslaught of press, appearances, commercials, and city funded portrayals) is not going unnoticed.
And so like that other fame seeking, self-promoting celebrity, our Mayor’s got himself smack between ‘Richards’, enjoying every moment of it, oh-so-coyly waiting for the chance at yet another run.
It’s your call Albuquerque – You may not have the power to exercise Paris Hilton from our culture but you can choose your Mayor in October.
Action Jackson arrives in the Land of Enchantment at the stroke of midnight. Lending to a new era of Popular Politics the Commander in Chief is here to hold court at a Town Hall meeting in Rio Rancho manana morning – that’s spanglish. Yeah, he speaks it.
