This just in: News of the WORLD (well, my world anyway a.k.a. my Beloved Michael K.) reports that NM’s favorite son Neil Patrick Harris will soon take on yet another momentous role…that of DADDY!
The crack reporting (pi) that is Dlisted says (via E! News) that the actor/director/all around awesomeness that is NPH and his partner David Burtka will be the fathers of twin babies in just a matter of months via a surrogate.
Now take this third hand news and jump up & down with GLEE that such a wonderful dude will be passing down all his goodness, talent and more goodness to some blessed little ones!
Send your respectful congrats to our Hommie on Twitter here!

Neil Patrick Harris for nabbing not one, not two but THREE Emmy noms
In this months prime-time Emmys
4 his hit TV Show How I Met Your Mother
an incredible Guest spot on Glee – rockin’ Areosmith’s Dream On
and his Hosting duties of the 2009 Tony Awards
now that’s Recession Succession – and as we’ve talked about he’ll be back here on the 22nd hosting a benefit dinner at Perennials
Our home girl Julia Gulia, Julia Roberts for taking her hotness GLOBAL, kickin’ it all over the world with her new movie Eat, Pray, Love of course she calls NM Home and she’s our pick for being an all around awesome celeb who still rocks 20 years after pretty woman! ahh, the inspiration…
Reviews are pouring in for this weekend’s directorial debut of NM’s Own Neil Patrick Harris. NPH took his very own production of RENT to the Hollywood Bowl with a mixed bag of talents and we’re hearing he churned out a performance worthy of the original.
From his ABQ roots performing at Musical Theatre Southwest straight through to his Emmy nominated run on the CBS hit series How I Met Your Mother Harris holds steady as on of NM’s brightest stars.
Besides his directorial duties, dogooding and his t.v. gig NPH will be back on the big-screen in 2011 (in 3D no less) when he reprises his stint in the Harold & Kumar movie series in A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas!
Also in 2011 he lends his zexy voice to the 3D animated film Smurfs and next month he will haunt the lives of evil doers as the voice of The Amazing Spiderman in the video game Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
If you’re going to find yourself in the Los Angeles area in the near future and you want to spend a magical night with NM’s Own Neil Patrick Harris, there’s still time to bid on a dinner for four at the famed Hollywood Magic Castle where you will be joined by NPH himself.
Current bidding stands at $2,500 with proceeds to benefit Project Angel Food, whose mission is “to nourish the body and spirit of men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses. Volunteers and staff cook and deliver free and nutritious meals prepared with love throughout Los Angeles County, acting out of a sense of urgency because hunger and illness do not wait.”
That may seem a little pricey being that it is at the high-end for average monthly income of most employed New Mexicans – but we’re sure NPH will get an even heftier haul from someone with beaucoup disposable cash and it’s so good to see our home boy giving back here, there and everywhere he can!
A wretched fire tore through New Mexico’s Own Musical Theatre Southwest last month. The Theatre’s buildings and all that was housed therein have been deemed a total loss.
Among the hundreds nay thousands of people who’ve worked and/or watched works performed there whom were devastated but not destroyed by the destruction is one of New Mexico’s favorite, most talented, and successful sons.
Our beloved Neil Patrick Harris and the entire Q based Harris family are stepping-up. Before hitting it big as the cutest lil’ doc on the block as genius Doogie Howser, NPH took part in the Musical Theatre Southwest production of Peter Pan in the 1980′s.
“It played a part in his progress into the big Hollywood world, and it’s just been a great little theater company here for 50 years…We will step up and help; we want to help,” his brother Brian Harris said.
Details of the Harris family assistance coming to the Theatre to follow!
ICYMI: New Mexico native Neil Patrick Harris guested on that Fox runaway hit show Glee.
NPH rocked a cover song sing off à la Train circa the then Journal Pavilion 2002 (those pop/contempo boys killed it – ‘member? You ‘member).
You may have recently seen the mega star making a cameo in the hilarious local commercial for the Harris family Albuquerque restaurant Perennials. Tweet ‘em up @ActuallyNPH.

Our locally televised post-Oscar coverage decided to tell us which 4 Oscar winners since 1902 have eventually come to live in or visit NM.
We’ll give you the scoop on present day New Mexico connections:
Right out of the gate NM’s Own NPH high-kicked-off the show. As predicted Jeff Bridges and Ryan Bingham each picked-up an Oscar for their contributions to NM film Crazy Heart.
Nominated film A Single Man has New Mexico roots behind the lens as director Tom Ford is a current resident. Precious‘ NM connection too is through it’s nominated director. Lee Daniels shot his 2008 film Tenessee in part here.
Oscar contender A Serious Man was the most recent Coen Bros release. It was just two years ago that the Bros won Best Picture with New Mexico’s No Country for Old Men. Joel and Ethan are currently at work on their adaptation of the Carles Portis Novel True Grit shooting right here with last night’s nom Matt Damon and other veteran NM actors.
The Academy’s beloved George Clooney didn’t take home a new statue and his NM film, Goats did not get any mentions nor did Crazy Heart’s Maggie Gyllenhaal’s bro. Jake & company’s Oscar worthy turn in NM’s Brothers was snubbed all together.
This year’s Best Picture winner didn’t make to New Mexico as recollected and jeered about between co-star Anthony Mackie and his interviewer here.
We’ll likely catch Bigelow and Mackie (if he’s lucky) shooting in our neck of the woods on the flip side…
p.s. KOAT did air a noteworthy look at NM’s Avatar connection though it’s ill~accessible on their website.
The Bogie-faced, Bateman clad economeister skipped out of the little New Mexico town of Ruidoso same time as Doogie.
While NPH launched to fame as a fictional prepubescent MD Willard earned his degree in economics from the University of New Mexico, where he was also a B-Baller and musician.
Fast forward through his American Psycho years, sans the insanity, to his hot seat on the panel with Rebecca Diamond and Eric Bolling – he’s a regular small town boy done good.
You’d might never hear of it via the local news & gloom, but you New Mexican’s can so far boast proud of the self-proclaimed Cowboy Cody and his cattle dog in the City.
