Judy Bell brings over thirty years film industry experience to the newly formed New Mexico casting company, Santa Fe Cinema Casting.
Partnered with Santa Fe businessman and producer Ord Morgan, Bell has launched a new casting registration database for New Mexico, online now.
The pair are currently developing a New Media Summit projected for the fall of 2012, centering on the latest in technology, new media experts and industry pros who are moving into that arena.
Regarding film production in New Mexico and beyond, Bell tells us, “We still have a ways to go to overcome the harm done by the administration, and the economy and declining box office are changing the face of the entire entertainment industry”, but goes on to share the sentiments of many saying, “I expect 2012 to see an upsurge in filming now that Santa Fe Studio is open and the furor over the rebate program has died down.”
Since starting the first Casting & Production Services company in San Diego as a native Californian, Bell has been ensconced in the world of film in every position from production to wardrobe and casting to craft service, on low budget/no budget projects to major studio productions, infomercials and commercials.
With Org, Bell is currently developing an NM web series and feature films. Santa Fe Cinema Casting company is online now and open for registration.
SFCC expects to hold its first open call sometime in the first quarter of 2012.
I’ve been acting and in love with the film biz since childhood and it seems that some people are just born into it. It has to be a passion in order to keep working, pushing, believing, suffering, and hoping, as it’s a tough business. Being a creative person is a gift but it also requires freedom from regimentation so you have to be willing to take risks and suffer the consequences.
I want to see the new studio stages filled and work opportunities for people in the Santa Fe area. This will improve tourism and global recognition as a vital economic center beyond its reputation as a world class art center.
- Judy Bell

Das Auto guy, aka most grotesque use of a wood chipper on film guy is set to be muy peligroso in the New Mexico action/western Film “The Last Stand”.
Peter Stormare is no stranger to the villain’s seat, known for his roles in Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Minority Report and Armageddon, where even if he isn’t playing THE Bad Guy he’s freaking unnerving at every turn!
Variety reports Stormare, “would play Burrell, a war vet who is commissioned by the main villain to lead an eight-man crew and take out the sheriff and his team.”
Ji-woon Kim will direct Schwarzenegger, Stormare and Austin all recently announced to star in this, the film career comeback vehicle for Schwarzenegger – in which he’ll play the small town sheriff taking on a powerful drug cartel.
The location casting director on this project is the esteemed Jo Edna Boldin (True Grit, No Country For Old Men, Sunshine Cleaning, Terminator Salvation, +++).
Local extras/background casting and crew details expected soon for the “The Last Stand”, set to begin production in Valencia county next month for a January 2013 release!

Sure as those shoes work with that bag, and the dress is a yes – a must for any seriously aspiring New Mexico actor is to make sure you’re registered with EG Casting.
Featured in industry periodicals and favored by many of our biggest ‘big deal’ productions…
Elizabeth Gable heads the agency that has cast background, extras and stand-ins for 3:10 to Yuma, No Country For Old Men, Terminator: Salvation, and The Book of Eli among many, many more…including the highly anticipated New Mexico mega pic COWBOYS & ALIENS – coming to theaters July 2011.
Gabel has upcoming commercial, film & television projects that her agency will apply their professional touch to – more than just a great experience, but quality casting opportunities are within your reach.
We have it on good authority that EG Casting is working with an award-winning producer as you peruse this, getting set to shoot a local project that will employ many who will be hand selected by the agency and the producer.
If you’re serious about getting into productions or want bona fide, resume & reel building experience be sure you’re in with EG.
