Sophia Vergara’s Sis Puts the Diss on #NM

Posted by on December 15, 2011 | Comments Off

Got nepotism? Show biz is full of it and many, many other things including over inflated egos. In today’s installment of ungrateful much, little known actress not Sophia Sandra Vergara recently made news when deciding and broadcasting that N. Mex, specifically ABQ was not up to her high standards (of rampant alcohol consumption).

Uh, wrong, wrong and wrong dummy. Twin Peaks is not a strip club it’s a restaurant chain, NM has more drink to offer than we know what to do with, and Albuquerque spans farther than the three block length you in your all knowing ways chose to slam.

‘Not Sophia’ has obviously yet to learn the Scoville Scale to New Mexico (see: six degrees to Kevin Bacon) because in her lack of gratitude for being a working actress she also managed to diss the hometown of one of her sister’s co-stars. Um, lil bully.

Get the full story here from KOB-TV and see the entire talk show appearance where Vergara pokes at the Q here.

Step to the back of the line b-rate. Bigger, far more recognizable stars have perpetrated worse digs against our beloved Nuevo México. Take a cue from ABQ friendly a-lister and star of the movie you were here filming and earning money for…the famously crass, heartthrob and actual celebrity – Irishman Colin Farrell, who had no trouble getting his anything on while in the Q.

Finally instead of letting “what’s-her-name’s” quotes lead the parade today, check the bigger digs, here, here, here and here. But I have to hand the Quote of the Day award to:

“I would not know that actress if i fell over her. Albuquerque rocks, she can go and DO ONE as we say in England!” – NM Actor by way of the UK

Update: More delusions from Vergara on how her sister’s fame has NOT helped her ~career and best of all a rationalization on why Colin Farrell DID NOT go for her on location here as told to the LatinoVoices edition of the Huffington Post…(thanks Cheryl)

Not Your Kids’ Ho-Hum Vampire

Fright Night feels much fresher than a lot of what has come down studio pikes this summer. – Cinema Blend

Just when it seems that every other young Hollywood actor is donning vampire garb, along comes Colin Farrell to show ‘em how it’s done.
- Variety

This decent remake of the ’80s vampire favorite should satiate horror fans. – The Hollywood Reporter

Remake of classic horror flick is killer blend of cheese and snark.
- N.Y. Daily News

Re-’Vamped’ ‘Fright Night’ Boasts Plenty of Scary Bites. – Fox News

‘Fright Night’ is Slick, Sinister and Playful. – Film School Rejects

Farrell’s Frightening, Ferocious, Fangs Saves ‘Fright Night’ Reboot! – Star Pulse

As vampire movies go, Fright Night is a pretty good one. – Roger Ebert, Chronicle Herald

Better still, in Roger’s review he inadvertently gives NM high praise as not only a believable Las Vegas locale but describes the setting as at least somewhat integral to the plot ;)

Pec-tacular and Toothriffic (I’m sorry)

Posted by on April 27, 2011 | Comments Off

If you know me, you prolly know my affinity for pectorals (and shoulders), a certain Spiderman action figure (and a certain hubs)…but I digress with an opportunity to post my personal favorite image released from Dreamworks of the wholly NM Film FRIGHT NIGHT!

Not to be outdone by The Avengers (because I won’t let them), tight as they might be holding to the Fright Night movie trailer or even a teaser, or even a gosh darn official poster, SKG/Dreamworks has teased with a viewing of several clips of 3D footage of the film…and though nary hide nor hair of a New Mexican may have been present for the event we’re still blessed with a new image via CineMovie.tv – ¡woot¡

p.s. Sadly, yes horseradish can be too hot…

Say Say Say Passion Play & Fright Night Style

Posted by on April 18, 2011 | Comments Off

While Fright Night holds tight to its official trailer the Wholly New Mexico film that’s destined for a limited release before hitting the DVD bin and Netflix circuit makes a great showing in this theatrical trailer!

Wily willed co-star Mickey Rourke made headlines last week yo-yoing between trashing the flick and reneging to reining-in powerful statements made about his leading lady, the lovely Megan Fox.

Last week Rourke told peeps at a Hollywoo party that PP is just a “terrible, terrible movie” and then later dropped the cool waters of ‘you ain’t all that’ on his previous statements about Fox being one of the most talented actresses of all time, by reemphasizing, “that I’ve worked with” then allegedly adding the patented Mickey Rourke f-you smirk that keeps us all coming back for more no matter what revision of his face we’re confronted with.

Here’s Mick’s rebuttal to the mag that printed his less than stellar review of Passion Play:

“Hey, guys. When I talked to you, I was at a party. It was loud and crowded, I was in a shitty mood and I was trying to get rid of your reporter. Mitch (the director of the movie) is one of my best friends since we were kids. I loved working with him and would do it again tomorrow. I don’t know why I said that stupid shit. I love Mitch, I love Megan. My bad.”

Congrats to all our talented locals that worked on this epic saga!

And whilst we wait to see the official Fright Night trailer here’s what the star of that flick said in front of a crowed screening the film to stick his foot in his gorgeous mouth over his latest Wholly New Mexico Movie:

“Meself, as a fan of the original, it doesn’t change. I don’t think I’ll have a copy of this version in my library, but I have the original at home…” – Colin Farrell

Later explaining to EW “What I meant was [I wouldn't own it] because I’m in the f-ing thing!” He said he cringes when he watches himself. “It’s always uncomfortable.”

Stir that pot boys! Keep ‘em talking, get ‘em watching! Go New Mexico Film! And now if you need a warm fuzzy, mosey on over to the eloquence of sexy Olivia Wilde’s love letter to NM here.

Here now (via Dreamworks) come the official first pics of Farrell, Yelchin & “McLovin” in the wholly New Mexico film! Bring it Jerry Dandrige!

Nospheratu in the Q

Posted by on September 21, 2010 | 2 comments

N. Mex don’t need no stinkin’ pappos! This ©Sindicated Fan Photo, captured the skittish Fright Night star who’s none-too-fond of a renegade camera’s lens. But no doubt this shutter-bug was as frightened by the sight of the reclusive stud as he happened to pass ‘em by in Albuquerque en route to another day at the office last week…

Looking good Jerry! Nothing new to see here, Farrell’s a sexy mess as usual in tight jeans, pointed toe boots and appears to favor the crips over the bloods

HAWT!

The prettiness that is Colin Farrell continues to flex his chops filming the Fright Night redux at various locations in & around Albuquerque…We do not publish filming locations/addresses, dates/times or buy or sell pappo pics/video, but we will post your candids and appreciate your tips!

Anystaringintothosestarryeyesissocalming, but I digress…

The wizard of words who spun the original tale, Tom Holland speaks out about the remastering of the first film rev. that has become an eighties horror classic.

Which as we’ve previously ~reported will be among the first NM films in Three Dimensions…Here’s what Holland had to say:
