“Walter White” will be mourned and laid to rest in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Walter White Funeral Link and QR Code

On Saturday October 19, 2013, beginning with a procession near the location where Walter White met his fate on 2nd & Los Ranchos in Albuquerque, New Mexico…

Walter White mourners are invited to attend a final farewell to the man, the myth and the legend, at his final resting place in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Services will take place at Sunset Memorial Park at 4:30pm. Breaking Bad set decorator Michael Flowers will deliver the eulogy. The Vernon’s Steakhouse Walter White funeral reception starts at 8:00pm. Attendance at both the funeral service and reception require payment with all proceeds going to the Vernon’s Steakhouse Walter White Endowment Fund at the Albuquerque Community Foundation benefiting Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH). Michael Baird, owner of Vernon’s Steakhouse states, “This is an enormous opportunity for the Albuquerque community to benefit again from the worldwide phenomenon of Breaking Bad. With this event and the creation of the Vernon’s Steakhouse Walter White Endowment Fund at the Albuquerque Community Foundation, Walter White’s legacy and final amends will have a positive impact on Albuquerque for many years to come.”

By participating in these events, in person and/or by purchasing items or making donations online, one is contributing to the awareness and prevention of the hardships afflicting so many in our City and contributing to the effort to help end it while ensuring a piece of the tumultuous, yet valuable legacy that Walter White leaves behind. It is hoped that the event will raise much needed funds to secure substance abuse services to people in Albuquerque who need them most. Here are some of the ways that the public can contribute:

Walter White Bracelets: $10.00 (plus S&H on national and international orders) Custom baby blue silicone bracelet imprinted with Walter White’s name.

Walter White Funeral Ticket and Bracelet: $20.00 Includes entrance to the funeral and a handful of earth to help bury Walter White, plus a custom baby blue silicone bracelet imprinted with Walter White’s name.

“Walter White has brought awareness to [Breaking Bad] viewers about the problems associated with drug abuse and homelessness. If his death can generate financial donations to combat drug abuse and homelessness in Bernalillo County, then Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless is a well deserving recipient of those proceeds” said Sheriff Dan Houston of the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Departments.

AHCH works with more than 7,000 men, women and children experiencing homelessness every year – including those who are struggling with severe mental health and/or substance use disorders, as well as other illnesses.
According to Loyola Digital Advertising, the ad slots during the Breaking Bad finale cost anywhere from $300,000-$400,000 for a thirty-second time slot. For Albuquerque Heath Care for the Homeless, that amount of money would provide 12-months of free substance abuse services to approximately 70 people. The 12-months of care includes monthly medical clinic visits, monthly or more case manager visits, integrated behavioral health, and full dental care, as needed.

To learn more about the cause and the services, join us for a press conference at 4:30pm on Thursday, October 17th at Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless, 1217 1st St., NW, on the corner of 1st & Menaul.

Barrett Foundation Night of Rhythm and Blues Fundraiser

Christian Nevell Bovee once said, “Music is the fourth great material want—first is food, then clothes, then shelter, and then music.”

This year Barrett Foundation presents the 2nd Annual Night of Rhythm & Blues at Casa Esencia.

Through music, you will be providing the first three material wants for the women and children we serve.

Your ticket purchase will provide you and your guests a glamorous Night of Rhythm and Blues at the chic and elegant Casa Esencia, one of New Mexico’s most sophisticated historic venues.

It is here you will experience “the fourth great material want”—listening to the sultry sounds of Soul Sanctuary while enjoying tantalizing hor d’oeuvres and drinks. And then, at 10:00 PM dancing will commence with the great sounds of DJ Aquattro.

Devo – Whip It by jpdc11

    From the team:

Help Our Team Move Toward a World Without MS!

Multiple sclerosis is a progressive neurological disease that affects people in many different ways. It could be paralysis one day, loss of vision the next or impaired memory the day after that. Living with MS means living with uncertainty.

When it comes to MS, only two things are certain:

    · Another American is newly diagnosed every hour of every day.

    · Many people are joining the movement toward a world free of MS including me.

    Why We’re Biking

We’ve registered for the Bike MS: Pedal los Pueblos 2011 because we want to experience a great, organized ride, and to help the National MS Society fund research, advocate for change, and help people with MS and their families lead powerful lives. We believe in the work they do and want to be part of it.

    Bonanza on the Pecos

    Posted by on June 12, 2010 | 2 comments

Though the San Miguel county commish & his posse are holding Ma Huckelberry back from creating resort style lodging on his Pecos Ranch property pending a showdown at the not-okay corral (a.k.a. court) later this month, fund raising is in the cards.

You can Cartwright-up for the day or the 1/2 day by donating $125 – $500 to the Santa Fe Film Festival. Your tax deductible donation opens the gates of this modern day Ponderosa to you where like Hoss and the gang you can enjoy a real homestead experience while helping the local film making community.

The more you know New Mexico – This showcase of our land and the enchantment therein…priceless. Now let ma dogooding Huckleberry make his property as prosperous as possible! We’re looking like burros in assless chaps bucking a homeboy who does so much for his adopted home state.

And p.s. this story is going global as the ACLU is getting involved to show us how to treat a brother – global asses, just what NM needs…
