New Mexico Actor Jackamoe Buzzell requires understudy

Local actor making big strides in the booming New Mexico film industry requires some back-up at the role which helped put him and catapult him into stardom!

OHI fave & friend, Jackamoe Buzzell is in need of an understudy to relieve him on Saturday’s and whenever he books a late audition, film or TV show.

Jackamoe plays a 1920’s Gangster at the world famous speakeasy Vernon’s Hidden Valley Steakhouse. The steakhouse is looking for a Caucasian or African-American male of any age with outstanding improvisational skills and lots of energy.

The bigger the better, however acting skills and what you create with the character are more important than size. For example; a badass little person would be great as well as a Joe Pesci type character.

This could also be good for comedians or MMA fighters with personality that want to break into acting. We are willing to consider any type of cool character that an actor can come up with.

Please send your headshot, bodyshot, resume and reel if available with any questions you may have to Minda Harrell minda@thehiddensteakhouse.com.

Applause After Hours Pilot Actors

Many local OHI faves landed roles and crew work on the NBC television pilot, “After Hours”, including actor friends Jackamoe Buzzell and Tina Borek!

As pictured above, Applause Talent Agency sent out kudos to their locally repped talent saying, “CHEERS! A huge congrats to the awesome Applause Talent Agency actors that booked roles on the After Hours pilot for NBC! Way to go, Alma Sisneros, Jesus Jr., Stephen A. Eiland, Vic Browder and Harry Zimmerman!”

“After Hours” revolves around the overnight shift in the emergency department of the San Antonio Medical Center.

Former Royal Pains star Jill Flint plays the female lead, BBC actor Eoin Macken stars as former Army medic TC Callahan, who finds himself coming into conflict with his bosses over his unorthodox approach to emergency medicine. Freddy Rodriguez (Six Feet Under) plays embattled hospital administrator, Michael Ragosa.

Flint will play Dr. Jordan Santos, TC’s (Macken) ex-girlfriend, now engaged to someone else. Recently promoted to Chief of the Night Shift, Jordan is ready to prove her worth, all while trying to comply with hospital administration (Rodriguez) and keep a “rogue” TC in check.

Directed by Pierre Morel (From Paris with Love), the hour long Sony Television drama is written and produced by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah.

NM’s Own: First “Best Live Comedy” Celebrity Roast

Posted by on March 23, 2012 | Comments Off on NM’s Own: First “Best Live Comedy” Celebrity Roast

Clearly born with a flare for the dramatic, Hollywood actor turned New Mexico star, Jackamoe Buzzell is ringing in his 40th with a charity bash chalk full of funny.

All proceeds from this sure to please celebrity roast benefit local organization, The Fatherless Child.

Jackamoe will be honored during this, the first “Best Live Comedy” Celebrity Roast, Saturday March 24th at Park Inn by Radisson, 2500 Carlisle NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111 at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7pm.

A word from Jackamoe:

Hi there,

Instead of going to Olive Garden and then seeing a movie by myself on my 40th birthday and feeling bad for myself, I thought I would try to do something positive for others. In this case children. What is more positive than raising money for those youth who suffer from chronic psychiatric illnesses and/or developmental disabilities. I myself am a fatherless child that still has really bad ADHD and didn’t learn how to read until 7th grade.

I am giving up my soul and any self dignity I still have left up for a good laugh. Any aspect of my life is up for a joke, which includes my two beautiful late wives. Even if you don’t like me, you will still enjoy the laughter and comedy and may even laugh more. And if you can’t stand me, please feel free to roast me yourself. Anything goes and nothing is off limits! Just talk to Stephen HAHA Hunt about it.

Hopefully you’ll buy a ticket for the children and join us for a great evening of FUN and FUND RAISING! Looking forward to seeing you at the show!!

Jackamoe Buzzell has entertained thousands of fabulous people with his baseball bat while playing a Gangster at Vernon’s Hidden Valley Steakhouse. You may have also scene him on In Plain Sight, Surreal Life or Punk’d and even naked on Penn & Teller: Bullshit on Showtime. On March 24th, 2012 he turns 40 years old! He’s also celebrating 25 years in the entertainment business! What better way to celebrate than to be the ‘victim’ of comical jabs at a Humor For Humanity Comedy Roast produced by Rev. Stephen HAHA Hunt formerly of The 1st Church of Sex & Ice Cream.

You Talkin to Me? I’m Talkin to You!

Posted by on May 15, 2011 | Comments Off on You Talkin to Me? I’m Talkin to You!

A longtime favorite of OHI, our own personal Goodfella aka Jackamoe Buzzell is getting so big in the entertainment industry that he is unable to meet the expanding, full-time commitment of performing at his speakeasy gig, which leads the screen & feature film actor to present an offer “you can’t refuse”…

If you think you’re ready and able to get your Jackamoe on, answer me this:

Can You Play a Gangster?

Jackamoe Buzzell performs as a gangster at Vernon’s Hidden Valley Steakhouse and needs an understudy. He has performed for 8 straight months without missing one single show.

Due to the success of the Prohibition Era themed restaurant, Vernon’s is expanding with additional dining space as well as a VIP cigar bar and will be opening 7 nights per week instead of being dark on Monday and Tuesday.

Potential understudies must be charismatic with an intimidating edge. The taller the better! Also must have great improvisational skills and be able to do a New York, Chicago or New Jersey accent.

For more information regarding the character, please check out Vernon’s commercial, Jackamoe as a guest on New Mexico Style, Jackamoe’s painting and the recent review in Albuquerque Arts Magazine, p.5.

Please submit your headshot, resume and any additional photos that may be pertinent to: vernonsgangster@yahoo.com

THIS JUST IN 08/12/11: The Los Angeles Times is REPORTING that Disney Is SHUTTING DOWN PRODUCTION ON THE LONE RANGER! Sound familiar?

Annnnnnd now THIS: Reports of the Lone Ranger’s demise are greatly exaggerated, so says Variety – here.

Disney sure does know how to kick-up dust in its desert home of New Mexico! ;)

THAT NOT SO SECRET SET 8/1/11: On Location VacationsRelated

UPDATE 7/10/11: SUPER ~secret set construction begins! Official‘ish announcements are beginning to come out…Hi-Yo Silver! NM silver screen that is! Woot!

For Angelie

Those among you who care to know if the pipeline of sessy leading men will continue to flow into New Mexico – we are here for YOU!

We’ve patiently waited for stalled projects like Unbound Captives to unleash the likes of Robert Pattinson on our fair state and the pending Protection of Dwayne “The Rock Again” Johnson.

The desert heat rises when scary Colin Farrell frights, Tatum charms again and again, or mucho mas gorgeous Cena shows us some lurve.

Not to be outdone, our beloved part-time New Mexicans set-up house and help out the community while their NM based productions shoot, and oodles of feature film & indie goodness roll in & out like our cool evening breezes (sigh)…

We’ve long awaited the arrival of Johnny Depp – and he may never leave if a certain Santa Fean beauty has a moment to work her charms on ’em.

Shantaram has been forever slated to shoot aqui con Depp but alas that film appears to be in the permanent hold queue avec Unbound

HOWEVER hot on the Disneywire today is news that Depp’s escándalo Tonto in Disney’s upcoming Lone Ranger flick has sights set on NM!

If asked, this bloggette could attest to the facts that this is a very real possibility – as we all know Disney ain’t no stranger to the Land of Enchantment, whether under their flagship moniker or with one of their acquired brands; Marvel, ABC or Sony Imageworks – we’ve long had us mouse in the house!

Big Hitters for Lil’ League

Posted by on April 11, 2011 | One comment

Click the pic for KOAT video

Weekend winds blew more than dust in our faces and weeds into our yards…Sunday afternoon, a breath of fresh air was brought to the fields of Altamont Little League for a Celebrity Softball game.

NM may be famed for its hot air in the fall, but spring softball brought some in the form of smack talk from none other than In Plain Sight star Mary McCormack as Mare-bear more than copped to on Twitter to NM’s Own Resident Goodfella Jackamoe Buzzell!

Mac also tweeted a pic from the game of the IPS head cheerleader also known as Kent Parker, the man who dresses sessy Mary for her turn as sexy Marshall Mary in the show.

Whether it was the wind, the smack talk or that head cheerleader – we’ll never know for sure but IPS eked a win out over Albuquerque’s beloved Breaking Bad cast and crew in the Little League exhibition game.
