UPDATE May 1, 2013: Bradley Cooper is out.

Some tips don’t pan out, some leads don’t come to fruition, but we’re happy to report that today’s announcement from the powers that be indicate our cross-sourced, hot topic of late has been deemed official! WOOT!

UPDATE 4/12/2013

From The New Mexico Film Office: “JANE GOT A GUN” filming in New Mexico

SANTA FE —New Mexico Film Office director Nick Maniatis announced today that the high-profile action drama JANE GOT A GUN is shooting in New Mexico starring Oscar winner Natalie Portman (Black Swan, V for Vendetta), Australian actor Joel Edgerton (Warrior, the upcoming The Great Gatsby), Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook, The Hangover), Noah Emmerich (The Truman Show, The Americans), and Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro (300: Rise of an Empire, Rio). Production will take place in northern New Mexico through the spring. The production will employ approximately 100 New Mexico crew members, including New Mexico resident and Unit Production Manager Alton Walpole (Crazy Heart, The Book of Eli) and over 400 New Mexico principals and background talent, including James Burnett (The Last Stand, Longmire), Sam Quinn, graduate of the Santa Fe University of Art and Design and River Shields (Beyond the Blackboard, Reunion). Gavin O’Connor, who directed Nick Nolte to an Oscar nomination in the action picture Warrior and Janet McTeer to a Golden Globe win in the drama Tumbleweeds, is directing. JANE GOT A GUN is being produced by Scott Pictures’ Scott Steindorff (The Lincoln Lawyer, The Human Stain) along with Portman, through her Handsomecharlie Films, Brillstein Entertainment partner Aleen Keshishian (Our Idiot Brother, Hesher), 1821 Pictures’ Terry Dougas (Swing Vote, The Invention of Lying), and Scott LaStaiti (Love in the Time of Cholera, Turistas). Australian cinematographer Mandy Walker (Australia, Red Riding Hood) is director of photography. Based on a script that was named one of the Black List best unproduced scripts of 2011 and written by Brian Duffield (Monster Problems), JANE GOT A GUN is a Western about a woman who hires her ex-lover to help save her wounded outlaw husband from the gang out to kill him and destroy her. ### Visit the New Mexico Film Office online at nmfilm.com

Royal Announcement NM Style

Posted by on April 28, 2011 | Comments Off on Royal Announcement NM Style

Errybody knows I follow & adore our local royalty a.k.a. all our beloved Telly and Radio personalities…but seriously what’s not to love about New Mexico celebs, which are all of us!

Now on to the news of the day regarding one of everybody’s favorite nightly news anchors:

Sure she’s always had an admirable bosom, sure the televised coverage of her wedding rivaled the princess making of mañana but some things are meant to be kept private! Until now…

I don’t know what prompted others in the community to pester Mrs. Ribando-Patrick on the status of her intra-uterual occupancy but according to the sweet promos currently running and running and running on KOAT 7, Shelly will be answering all your queries, what ever they may have entailed…and she will be ‘delivering’ an announcement about what she describes as herself looking “a little different” and reveal what she’s be trying to “hide a bit”. Tune in to the 10 o’clock news tonight for the big reveal you’ve been waiting for.

Whether you might have thought that that aforementioned bosom has become even more enviable or figured that in the traditional scheme of things that the time was rolling around for the relatively new-lyweds to procreate, you’ve apparently voiced some curiosities…I drew my own conclusion a few months ago just by hearing her voice…she delivered one line and I heard the raw nasal membranes that result from raging hormones…pobricita.

Well, from OHI we’d like to say that you look spectacular Shelly and we congratulate you on one of the most harrowing experiences one can embark upon! Buckle-up Mr. & Mrs. it’s sure to be an outrageous, amazing, wonderful, trying & beautiful ride – best wishes for a safe & healthy one!

You will likely be gifted or at least recommended the standard in gestational reading fare…I will cyber gift you this as a companion to that:

p.s. I think it’s a BOY!

Big Hitters for Lil’ League

Weekend winds blew more than dust in our faces and weeds into our yards…Sunday afternoon, a breath of fresh air was brought to the fields of Altamont Little League for a Celebrity Softball game.

NM may be famed for its hot air in the fall, but spring softball brought some in the form of smack talk from none other than In Plain Sight star Mary McCormack as Mare-bear more than copped to on Twitter to NM’s Own Resident Goodfella Jackamoe Buzzell!

Mac also tweeted a pic from the game of the IPS head cheerleader also known as Kent Parker, the man who dresses sessy Mary for her turn as sexy Marshall Mary in the show.

Whether it was the wind, the smack talk or that head cheerleader – we’ll never know for sure but IPS eked a win out over Albuquerque’s beloved Breaking Bad cast and crew in the Little League exhibition game.

Faaaaaaar be it from anyone to tell thee how to think, sit or be! So I/we will refrain from pounding out upon this, mine lowly keyboard what I/we think of the above story – HOWEVER, which ever side of this very distinct fence on which you choose to squat – this is (as contrary to this whole freaking ordeal may seem) the United Sates of America.

And I/we know y’all KNOW about fa, fa, faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar too many things that go on touted as free-speech and in the name of freedom – which our BELOVED service people live and die for….and yet THIS is happening.  So, um , however and whatever you freely, feel and/or think about this, PLEASE exercise your rights and CONTACT the “powers” that be at: http://www.cibolacougars.com/

It’s a good thing the Tea Party organizations are out there inciting hate to ensure the government doesn’t run our lives – this young woman’s pantsuit is endangering all of our lives!

Things That Make You Go Duh! Part Deux

Posted by on October 26, 2010 | Comments Off on Things That Make You Go Duh! Part Deux

As every news outlet and their momma has already told you by now (above, here, here, here and HERE)…New Mexico’s Film industry is BOOMING!

Well, that boom is in great jeopardy without support from the incoming leadership of our Government. But whatta you care? It’s not like New Mexicans need to know the thrills of an exciting industry that broadens the horizons of many of the disenfranchised youth of our society…et al.

MI, TX, LA, OH, IL, MA and so many more states are “hot on our boot heel” and that which has been described as “an industry on wheels” will roll on by us (again, Microsoft style) if NM doesn’t retain their reign.

There is a long sad list of films and productions that check-in at the New Mexico Film office but don’t stay because of incentives elsewhere – but as of now the glorious list of those that come and do set-up house with their dollars, their notoriety and their community service is longer.

This is like that great love of your life that you’d be a fool to cast aside – Don’t be a chump. Vote-up NM.

Twitter Bird

UPDATE: To the relief of gazzilions Twitter is back ~up as of approx. 9:45 a.m. MST “Phew!”

The bird is down.  Cnet Tech News breaks it down here.

How is Ashton gonna tell us what he’s doing today? Where is Anderson Cooper? Whaaaa! “Why, why…

If a bird has to be grounded why can’t it be the C02 emitting, fuel wasting, Sky 7 who hovers over the city for HOURS EVERY weekday morning “reporting” on a hole, some asphalt, or today capturing riveting footage above the Rail Runner tracks from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Historical Tweet on the matter: “EPA, EPA How now Brown Cloud? They’re still at it – Ground that Bird! #ABQ

While Sky 7 is undoubtedly a valuable asset to the Action 7 news team, as are reporter A.J. Smith and pilot Neal Lawson…Are daily fly-overs really necessary?

In their efforts to inform us of where our tax dollars and Barack-ortunity funds are being spent, this watch-dog in the sky segment plays out daily – whereby A.J. Smith is dispatched overhead to show you various holes in the ground, tops of buildings and strips of asphalt.

At an estimated 4 miles to the gallon and approximately 7 times the CO2 emissions of your standard vehicle is this coverage aligning with economic and environmental standards we should be striving for?

Applause for the watch-dogging, but thumbs down on daily flights for fancy aerials.
