The words, “fifth and final” have been tough ones to swallow ’round here in the world of New Mexico Film, as two of the most long lasting and acclaimed productions in NM history have reached their end.
Anyhow, the New Mexico son who has worked, and worked in the entertainment industry to make a name for himself, and Nuevo México for more than 20 years, has achieved some of the recognition he deserves as one of the few, the proud, and the still living on “the best show on television”!
Tonight NM’s Own, Steven Michael Quezada continues to enjoy Emmy weekend with his Breaking Bad TV family and his beautiful bride, Cherise. Here, courtesy of Rio Grande Media Group, is YOUR NIGHT at the 2012 Emmy’s with Steven Michael Quezada!
And at this particular taping of The After After Party we were floored by the gripping performance of this youngin who had ‘real-deal’ written all over his rhymes.

From the artist:
I didn’t think I would ever be a Hip-hop artist until I was in the studio for the first time. It really changed my life. There is a certain sense of control that I feel whenever I walk into the recording booth. It’s the best feeling I know.
Everyone uses their abilities in order to get where they want to be in life. I use my mind and my words to do so. However, my ambitions are not those of your ordinary “rapper.”
I’ve watched the evolution of Hip-hop throughout my life. I see how many people view Hip-hop as senseless and somewhat unintelligent. These people do not understand what Hip-hop is supposed to be. I admit that there are some artists now who do fit these descriptions and are classified under the genre of Hip-hop, but the art of this music in not gone.
When you listen to music from legends of Hip-hop such as Nas, Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., and more, you find intelligence. You find meaning. You find skill. These are the artists which I draw my inspiration from. I feel sometimes that many artists today do not get the amount of recognition they deserve.
I want to show people that when you let true Hip-hop and true lyricism have its place you realize what this music truly is, that it does have meaning, and that it can be intelligent. -Young Dy-lan
Like his slimy skinned, yellow eyed aquatic counterpart the NM Land Trout known as TJ for over 25 years is highly sought after game. Not much lures this reclusive morning rap artist out of his hole for appearances or socialization – but The After After Party baited the large mouth man.
And now the late night entertainment capital of New Mexico will sport not only a roster chalk-full of their standard high bar local talent, and the musical stylings of the one and only James Douglas Show band – but the morning radio meister who is NM’s Own embodiment of where J.D. Salinger meets George Carlin will hit the stage and chat-it-up with host Steven Michael Quezada in front of a live studio audience.
If you’re not tuned-in for his radio quips, parked at a remote (or briefly bestowed his tuteladge over a pulled pork sandwich) you don’t get much Trout. There are no tweets about his lunch-time fare, no facebook photos of his new sunglasses, party dresses or other updates about which Target he’ll shop today – but if you are a 94 Rock devotee you’re likely a big fan of the man.
So get your wading pants on or whatever the hell you wear when you go trout fishin’ (I’m sure Teej could tell ya’) and get down to the historic Wool Warehouse for the show this Tuesday night. Admission is FREE and there’s simply no better entertaiNMent – three shows for the price none! Dancing shoes always recommended for in between buckling down for knee slapping, gut busting humor – this time only, including the special wriggly trout viewing!
Lester Panabaker, whom you may never have heard of by way of Emmy winning actor Bryan Cranston, becomes the beloved Walter White…All right before your eyes.

“Steven Michael Quezada and the producers of “The After After Party” want to give even more local talent the opportunity to showcase their talents on the state’s new #1 late-night talk show.” – The After After Party
Who: Musical Guests & Comedians
When: March 6 – 7
Where: The Historic Wool Warehouse Theater – Home of The After After Party
What: New Mexico’s Premiere Late Night TV Talk Show
When “The After After Party” first began filming in late 2010, the show’s star, co-creator, and executive producer Steven Michael Quezada never stopped emphasizing his desire to showcase local talent. In that time, “The After After Party” has served as a showcase of local musicians and comedians, proudly living up to the CW Network’s slogan, “Keeping It Local.”
In the four months that “The After After Party” has been on the air…, local and regional comics have relished the opportunity to perform in front of over 200,000 regional viewers and over 300 live audience members weekly. They have also appeared alongside major movie and television stars such as legendary actor Wes Studi, radio hosts Erika Viking, Big Moon, Crisco Kidd, and Swami Rob, and some of Quezada’s “Breaking Bad” co-stars including multiple Emmy Award winning actors Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston.
So far, Steven Michael Quezada has welcomed the comedic stylings of Niki Mangin, Frank Lucero, Kenny King, Freddy Charles, Chris Otero, Curt Fletcher, Nathaniel Auguston, and Silver Dominguez. In addition, some of the state’s most talented musicians have also graced “The After After Party” stage including Hillary Smith, Poema, Illustrated Man, David Wade, Alex Maryol, Juan Gambino, Fat Fish, and many others. Even “The After After Party” house band, The James Douglas Show, is based in Albuquerque.
Now, Steven Michael Quezada and the producers of “The After After Party” want to give even more local talent the opportunity to showcase their talents on the state’s new #1 late-night talk show.
And now for lovers of great flavor combinations, such as “peanut butter & chocolate” comes one of my most favorite pairings, a hot whitey and a spicy Mexican (see our wedding album, Ricky and Lucy [i know, i know he's Cuban], The Erica Viking show w/Big Benny Martinez, etc., etc.).
Tomorrow night all eyes in Burque have a chance to see the hottest show in town including an acting/comedy team of the aforementioned variety.
Cranston broke big laughs flexing his stand-up comedic chops and treated the crowd to a live transformation into the beloved Walter White.
Local Celebs filled the audience and the stage (below, Aaron Paul pictured with New Mexico Actress Andrea B. Good and New Mexico Style Hosts Nikki Stanzione and Kristen Van Dyke) for the live taping of the show last night in downtown Albuquerque.

Actor RJ Mitte of the Emmy winning series Breaking Bad took the time to guest w/co-star Steven Michael Quezada on NM’s Own late night TV Talk Show, The After After Party.
At his tender age Mitte is an accomplished man with talent beyond his years who charmed the crowed and the camera with his easy wit and affability. He is certainly a star to watch for all of the above reasons and many more.
Mitte is an active member and spokesperson for the organization I AM PWD, which stands (quite literally) and works for Inclusion in the Arts & Media of People with Disabilities.
From the PMD Fact Sheet:
The U.N. estimates that there are 650 million people in the world living with a disability; the US Census says there are 56 million Americans with disabilities. They remain virtually invisible in media.
With the endorsement of the governing bodies of all three national unions, the I AM PWD Campaign and its growing network of union member activists and partners will focus on several areas throughout the duration of the campaign:
ACCESS, INCLUSION and ACCURACY.
Creating a nationwide network of advocates both inside and outside of the entertainment and media industries.
Work with the AFL-CIO to create a Disability Constituency Group within the federation.
Eliminate the virtual exclusion and discrimination of persons with disabilities at all levels in the entertainment industry.
Learn more about I AM PWD here and follow Mitte, New Mexico’s Own AMC series Breaking Bad and The After After Party where all of the above are making a difference in bringing work and equality to New Mexico EntertaiNMent & beyond.

In the paraphrased words of the late great Ed Sullivan, it was a really, really big show!
If you weren’t at the taping of NM’s Own Late Night Talk Show The After After Party with Steven Michael Quezada you missed some of the funniest, most entertaining moments of the year!
In short the audience was the MAN, the sixth man that is, but it wasn’t a tough task because from start to finish SMQ held the crowd in that endearing & engaging way he wields his HIGHlarity. The original and actual members of the Quezada family led the chain of adorable supporting the King of Hommywood in this next great, big step in his entertaiNMent career! (Mama Quezada was too presh for words)
The newest honorary Quezadas include the astounding James Douglas Show who simply brought down the house with every single beat – and I kid you not, brought the goose bumps along with the can’t-help-but-shake your booty funkification!
This production is truly a sample of New Mexico’s finest – the professional, largely volunteer crew, students, performers and guests really brought their A-game as a community, it doesn’t get more feel-good fun than that.
