The NM Production premiered in June of this year, during ABC’s summer season. The full 8 episode run opened with a solid 5.17M viewers but that steadily declined to just over 2M for its finale this August.
This week in NYC America’s TV broadcast networks’ make their upfront presentations to advertisers.
“Broadcast TV’s season finales aren’t the only nail-biters on the mind of Madison Avenue this week.
With the big networks — ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox — launching their fall-schedule pitches over the next few days as part of the annual ad sales bazaar known as the upfront, the scrambling that networks are doing to make casting, scheduling and programming decisions have advertisers equally on edge.” – New York Post
Included in the bunch of summer show line-ups are two, count ‘em two New Mexico productions.
ABC Scoundrels – Stars Virginia Madsen as the matriarch of a family of small-time criminals who decide to go straight when Dad is sent off to prison.
CBS The Odds – Stars Donald Faison and Jacob Vargas in the buddy cop show set in Las Vegas, where “the cops are as outrageous as the crimes they solve.”
On the heels of series Big Bang Theory blowing-up and making syndie history with the biggest syndication deal EVER we wish both our NM shows the best of luck!
“Cable giants TBS and Fox both snagged rights to repeats on their networks, and they didn’t come cheap. In fact, Variety is reporting that at $1.5 million an episode, the multi-camera sitcom “set a record price.” By the way, that blows away the record set by FX of $800,000 for the syndication rights to “Two and a Half Men.” – Yahoo! TV
If you were watching DWTS tonight you saw Pammy get the boot and the first promo for the NM production Scoundrels.
The scripted and performed (imagine that) comedy/drama starring Academy Award nominated sweet Tweet Virginia Madsen, focuses on a family of small-time criminals who try to go straight after the father is sent to prison.
Premieres Sunday June 20 on ABC.
