OHI EXCLUSIVES – In addition to the multitude of television series and films already in production in NM, several projects are purported to be circling our airspace:
Garrison 7 – A Sci-fi/Action/Fantasy starring Casper Van Dien and Mark Dacascos, about an elite special forces commander who finds himself the target of an intergalactic manhunt after he accidentally uncovers an insidious military conspiracy, is set to film primarily in Australia with a possible shoot scheduled in Shiprock, New Mexico. The movie is reportedly now in pre-production.
The Run – Allegedly as part of the MGM/Burnett/Downey grandiose “Joint Venture”, the forthcoming feature length drama, about a former Olympian track star and a young boy with a natural talent for running embarking on the trek of a lifetime when the boy sets out to run from Tucson to Mexico City, in hopes of saving his father’s life, is slated to film in New Mexico.
Army of One – Making headlines today as Nick Cage has signed on to star in the bizarre but true tale of Gary Faulkner’s mission to single-handedly hunt down Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. The comedy is scheduled to begin production this spring with Borat director, Larry Charles at the helm here in New Mexico.
Preacher – The cult 1990s comic book series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon is starting to take shape as a 21st century dark dramedy television pilot, per order of AMC. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are tapped to write and direct the production expected to shoot in New Mexico by mid 2015.
