After shining in front of the camera as a performer in hundreds of commercials, television shows and Hollywood movies, award-winner actor and musician Jackamoe Buzzell is turning the spotlight on the people of New Mexico.
Buzzell, a native of Maine but current New Mexico resident, recently signed on to raise money for families served by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of NM by participating in Guys Night Out ABQ, a fundraiser scheduled for the evening of April 28th at the Albuquerque Press Club.
“I believe giving back to the community is a responsibility every New Mexican has, no matter his or her job or status in life,” said Jackamoe Buzzell, whose philanthropic experience is highlighted by his involvement in the Walter White funeral, a fundraiser that generated over $30 thousand for Albuquerque’s Healthcare for the Homeless. “Guys Night Out ABQ is special to me, and I’m thrilled to be part of a group of community-oriented men who give of their time and money to make our state a better place.”
Buzzell will serve as the emcee of Guys Night Out ABQ, fundraiser where 100 percent of ticket sales and sponsorship dollars goes directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of NM and the families they serve. “It’s going to be an amazing evening,” says Buzzell. “While I’m looking forward to four hours of live music, a great dinner and a chance to hang out at the historic Albuquerque Press Club, the reason I’m involved is to help the Ronald McDonald House Charities of NM continue to keep families together when their children undergo medical procedures. That’s the real reason for Guys Night Out ABQ, and I can’t wait to join the men of this city in making a positive difference.”
Guys Night Out ABQ, presented by Nusenda Credit Union, offers men an opportunity to enjoy an evening of food, live music, libations and a chance to win some amazing raffle prizes, all while raising money for a local charity. The $25 admission fee includes dinner, two beers courtesy of La Cumbre Brewing Company.
“Guys Night Out ABQ grew out of a conversation over a pool game in the belly of the Albuquerque Press Club earlier this year,” said Kevin Fuller, board president of the Albuquerque Press Club and founder of Guys Night Out ABQ. “The conversation inspired a few friends to give back to our community in a more impactful way, and the support we’ve garnered from sponsors such as Nusenda Credit Union and people like Jackamoe Buzzell grew legs for the event. I’m excited to see the impact community members can generate for great nonprofits like the Ronald McDonald House Charities of NM.”
Fuller emphasizes that the fundraiser is separate from Girls Night Out, the largest fundraiser of the year for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of NM. Girls Night Out takes place the same evening at Isleta Resort and Casino. Women can purchase tickets to Girls Night Out by visiting rmhc-nm.org.
