Just kidding…I’m thrilled with the mention on KRQE by Emmy Award winning Reporter Jessica Garate. Can’t wait to see her in the movies, playing an Emmy Award winning Reporter,  à la Jeremy Jojola, playing a reporter in Transformers.

Barbara Walters Has Nothing on Donna Brazile

Barbara Walters has often discussed her thievery upon her visits to the White House. Well, today esteemed journalist Donna Brazile confided live on ABC her swift lifting of a fleece blanky meant for our new Commander in Chief.

Apparently there were fleece throws upon the seats of the participants around the inaugural podium. Brazile enjoyed the ceremonies seated next to the head of the NAACP and took a second to grab Barack Obama’s fleece as a souvenir at the conclusion of the ceremony.

“For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus – and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.” – President Barack Obama

“We ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right,” – Rev. Joseph Lowery

It is a beautiful day for our country, but I would feel remiss if I didn’t voice my notice of the little to no mention for Women’s/Equal Rights. Freedom and equality per race and religion – yes, but I did not hear a nod to the revered responsibility and sacrifice undertaken by his single mother and grandparents in raising him. I’m sure it was an oversight that our new leader’s actions will remedy.
