Casting Call – Angel Fire, New Mexico

6603-Crack-of-DuskPhotograph by JR Compton

Casting for HD Student Short Film “Four hand Bloodstock”, to shoot in Angel Fire, New Mexico.

Production is scheduled for March 05 – 12, 2013

Producer: Mystie Pineda
Writer: Greg Stout
Director: Greg Stout

Synopsis: Four Hand Bloodstock is a landscape film about Sam, who while dealing with the declining health of his wife, June, interacts with the landscape of New Mexico.

Four Hand Bloodstock plays with the themes of time and space through experimental camera work and sound design to express the transitioning moods of the couples’ experience with June’s awaited journey to death. Four Hand Bloodstock makes the landscape a character within the film, giving time and space a story just as much as the characters themselves.

The tone is tranquil with moments of depression and panic. The film has elements that include the history of the New Mexican landscape, the Tigua Indians and Pueblos.

Character Breakdowns:

Sam (early 30s) – is fearful of loosing his wife to a rare bacterial disease. Sam leaves their cabin home to travel across the New Mexican landscape, accompanied by visions of his wife. Sam eventually arrives at a Native American pueblo and performs a death ceremony.

June (early 30s) – has been diagnosed with a rare bacterial infection and as her condition worsens, June becomes more fearful. Her once optimistic views of life are dissolving more quickly than her health.

These are PAID roles in addition to Film Credit, DVD Copy, Meals, Snacks, Beverages and Transportation Provided.

***Email Your Casting Submissions to: fourhandthefilm@gmail.com***

Auditions will be held between 2pm and 8pm on Friday January 25th, 2012 in Studio 4E of the CMB Building on the University of Texas at Austin Campus.

#NM Lights, Camera, Santa Fe Cinema Casting

Posted by on December 30, 2011 | Comments Off on #NM Lights, Camera, Santa Fe Cinema Casting

Judy Bell brings over thirty years film industry experience to the newly formed New Mexico casting company, Santa Fe Cinema Casting.

Partnered with Santa Fe businessman and producer Ord Morgan, Bell has launched a new casting registration database for New Mexico, online now.

The pair are currently developing a New Media Summit projected for the fall of 2012, centering on the latest in technology, new media experts and industry pros who are moving into that arena.

Regarding film production in New Mexico and beyond, Bell tells us, “We still have a ways to go to overcome the harm done by the administration, and the economy and declining box office are changing the face of the entire entertainment industry”, but goes on to share the sentiments of many saying, “I expect 2012 to see an upsurge in filming now that Santa Fe Studio is open and the furor over the rebate program has died down.”

Since starting the first Casting & Production Services company in San Diego as a native Californian, Bell has been ensconced in the world of film in every position from production to wardrobe and casting to craft service, on low budget/no budget projects to major studio productions, infomercials and commercials.

With Org, Bell is currently developing an NM web series and feature films. Santa Fe Cinema Casting company is online now and open for registration.

SFCC expects to hold its first open call sometime in the first quarter of 2012.

I’ve been acting and in love with the film biz since childhood and it seems that some people are just born into it. It has to be a passion in order to keep working, pushing, believing, suffering, and hoping, as it’s a tough business. Being a creative person is a gift but it also requires freedom from regimentation so you have to be willing to take risks and suffer the consequences.
I want to see the new studio stages filled and work opportunities for people in the Santa Fe area. This will improve tourism and global recognition as a vital economic center beyond its reputation as a world class art center.
– Judy Bell
