Not since Breaking Bad MADNESS first broke wide open, has our traffic meter hit the kind of highs it’s hitting with the quick success of the A&E series Longmire.
Since its “distinctive premiere”, the quickly green-lit, highly anticipated, contemporary western drama set in WYO is exploding in our search terms, “where is Longmire filmed?”, “Stars of Longmire”, and “Longmire Television Series”.
Goooooooooooooal New Mexico! After the sad goodbye to In Plain Sight earlier this year and the absolutely heart wrenching, impending farewell to our beloved Breaking Bad, Longmire is a bright light in #NMFilm futures sights!
To feed you more awesome, upon awesome in touting New Mexico Film, all reports coming in here say that the CBS series pick-up of the Dennis Quaid 60s era drama will return to New Mexico to shoot! Here’s hoping those (multiple) rumors are TRUE!
In any case we can confirm, proof positive that once again…the WORLD is watching New Mexico Film!
As we’ve been following for you here, New Mexico just recently wrapped standing-in for 1960s era Las Vegas, NV, in the “Untitled Las Vegas Project” television series pilot, which has been ordered for the 2012-2013 fall season on CBS primetime!
CBS has just released this first-look at all the show’s stars in action, including the decidedly distinct look of the Southwest that NM lends to the series.
This comes hours after the casting co. which staffed the show with hundreds of local extra and background talent, released this info. on their Facebook page:
“”ULVP” (Untitled Las Vegas Project) New Mexico *UPDATE* – Afraid we have bad news for NM about this project. Rumor (from a producer on the show) is that they will be filming the series from the “Untitled Las Vegas Project” pilot shot here in NM…..in LA (not sure if he meant Los Angeles or Louisiana). Hope the “rumor” isn’t true!!” -On Location Casting
Special nod to CLB, one of our local faves for her work on the series pilot!
OLC Still needs vintage style bikers – Think Café Racers meets Marlon Brando in The Wild One

BIKERS – Male, Caucasian or Hispanic, 18-50 years old, confident riders, NOT overly tattooed, prefer shorter hair to long hair, NOT a “scruffy” biker look more like late 50s. This is supposed to be 1960 in old Las Vegas, NV. Classic. Looking for 1950s-1960s era bikes also.
Overall Talent Considerations: NO professional acting experience required! Bikers would need to be willing to possibly be filmed in their underwear, get wet (hosed down in a jail scene) and possibly wear bald caps to simulate you having your head shaved (if you are not already bald!) The bikers get run out of old Las Vegas by the “new sheriff in town”!
HOW TO SIGN UP:

The long rumored, dramatic series pilot prospect, centered on Rodeo Cowboy turned Clark County Sheriff, Ralph Lamb appears to be materializing right here in New Mexico.
Local industry diehards (literally) are purportedly prepping in Santa Fe, Las Vegas and Albuquerque to receive the CBS Studios pilot for the untitled “Lamb” project.
The real-life career of Las Vegas Sheriff, Ralph Lamb spanned nearly two decades in the 60s and 70s, where his now storied figure, known as the “Cowboy Sheriff” reportedly oft engaged in hand to hand combat up against formidable foes including members of the Mafia and the Hell’s Angels.
James Mangold (Wolverine, Walk the Line) is set to direct the periodic series pilot as penned by Nicholas Pileggi (GoodFellas) for a prospective spot in a fall 2012 CBS line-up.
The rumors on top of rumors (aka trusted industry reports/sources and whispers in the wind) say that none other than Dennis Quaid is slated for the lead role as Lamb himself with one formidable foe role being filled nicely by Michael Chiklis.
Our sources and scheduling alike would mandate that the project is currently in pre-production, to be followed by March shoot dates.
Iconic sharpshooter, widower Lucas McCain, first brought to life by Chuck Connors and his 1892 Winchester is slated to hit modern day television.
The beloved TV series, “The Rifleman” (1958-1963) is being resurrected by Columbia Broadcasting System.
With recent clamourings for the western genre, brought on by the success of Deadwood and Justified, spawning new series’ Hell on Wheels and NM’s own (pilot) Longmire, CBS is poised to bring the gold home to network TV in the proverbial chuck-wagon.
The original series set in the 1800s and NEW MEXICO is currently in development at CBS with Harry Potter director Chris Columbus, screenwriters Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar and Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier for the CBS and hopefully NM shoot…
ABC Family has green lighted their original series The Lying Game, a spin-off of their hit show Pretty Little Liars. Both shows are based on novels by Sara Shepard.
As we told you here the pilot filmed right here in NM! You can thank Susana Martinez for the show up and taking production to Los Angeles – Thank you Susana!
The Lying Game is set to premiere Monday, August 15 on ABC Family.
Also just announced the Longmire television series has been picked by A&E for their upcoming season! Longmire is currently in production in northern NM.
Not fairing so well; CBS jinxed pilot starring Donald Faison, The Odds is never slated to see the light of day. Also not ‘coming soon’ is TNT’s Albuquerque production of The Rabbit Factory – that pilot had teamed DL Hughley with Steven Weber and employed many local cast & crew.
NBC says pass on another newsworthy NM shoot, that of Reconstruction (originally titled The Crossing) which marks strike two in recent TV season up-at-bats for for star Rachelle Lefevre who also led the cast of the highly touted, quickly puttered Off the Map.
Big hitters Breaking Bad and In Plain Sight are currently in production in the Q. The acclaimed A&E and USA network shows are in the midst of their fourth seasons respectively.
If there’s not enough NM on TV for you…because there never is, the revamped Charlie’s Angels series, starring New Mexico’s Own Minka Kelly is on the fall TV schedule where you can still find fellow New Mexicans Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Neil Patrick Harris in their own high falutin, hit TV series’.
New Mexico’s Own NPH went a lil’ rouge MBH (Mama Bear Harris) today when he tweeted to his 1 Mill. plus followers the implication that American Novella Legend (Soap Actor) Eric Braeden is a lukewarm bag of vinegar & water solution for bailing on a guest appearance on Harris’ acclaimed and beloved television series How I Met Your Mother…
Well, as sometimes/often happens, the use of such a flushing solution caused a pH imbalance leading to a touch of spouters remorse on Harris’ side and a big ‘ol pompous bag of wind-bag on Braeden’s.
We say to each his own – Good for NPH for living the passion for his craft, cast & crew and no poo off his nose if Braeden prefers to remain steadfast in his 20+ year character, spewing his trademark statements, delivering his three rotating scowls for the five standard, regurgitated soap opera story lines…I keed, I keed – Victor Newman for life!
This week in NYC America’s TV broadcast networks’ make their upfront presentations to advertisers.
“Broadcast TV’s season finales aren’t the only nail-biters on the mind of Madison Avenue this week.
With the big networks — ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox — launching their fall-schedule pitches over the next few days as part of the annual ad sales bazaar known as the upfront, the scrambling that networks are doing to make casting, scheduling and programming decisions have advertisers equally on edge.” – New York Post
Included in the bunch of summer show line-ups are two, count ‘em two New Mexico productions.
ABC Scoundrels – Stars Virginia Madsen as the matriarch of a family of small-time criminals who decide to go straight when Dad is sent off to prison.
CBS The Odds – Stars Donald Faison and Jacob Vargas in the buddy cop show set in Las Vegas, where “the cops are as outrageous as the crimes they solve.”
On the heels of series Big Bang Theory blowing-up and making syndie history with the biggest syndication deal EVER we wish both our NM shows the best of luck!
“Cable giants TBS and Fox both snagged rights to repeats on their networks, and they didn’t come cheap. In fact, Variety is reporting that at $1.5 million an episode, the multi-camera sitcom “set a record price.” By the way, that blows away the record set by FX of $800,000 for the syndication rights to “Two and a Half Men.” – Yahoo! TV
KRQE Mornings et al have captured my attention with their various teasers leading up to the eventual unveiling their brand new studio. But more than that thanks to Jay Leno’s perpetual un-funniness and my affinity for East Coast wit I’ve been falling asleep on the #3 CBS with Dave Letterman (after KASA Fox 2 news and TMZ of course), which has led to some early mornings with Deanna and Mike.
Mike’s voice and delivery are downright hypnotic, and as I stare at him I realize that he’s the calmer, newsie version of the seductively intense Alec Baldwin. Both Mike and Deanna seem even clearer than usual too, maybe their temporary mouse-hole diggs are equipped with better cameras. AnysupermagnifiedHD, they are like 3X life size and clear as day.
Which has brought about a new found appreciation for Deanna’s saucey Paula Abdul look, and though I have never seen her abs, those enviable eyebrows definitely garner a NM’s Own Situation award.
and p.s. it’s nice that KRQE Mornings and the CBS Morn’ Show don’t have a damn ticker at the bottom of the screen distracting my ADD***!
Check out both shows and admire two of The Land of Enhancement’s finest – Steven Michael Quezada stars in AMC’s Breaking Bad as Steven Gomez. Neil Patrick Harris can also be seen on the CBS monster hit How I Met Your Mother.
