Open Road Films has announced that the film based on the 2008 best selling novel, The Host by Twilight author Stephenie Meyer, is set for release on March 23, 2013.
Of course before film hits reel production will get underway next winter in both Louisiana and right here in New Mexico!
The sci-fi thriller will center around a “lone human holdout trying to survive after a species of mysterious entities invades Earth and takes over the minds of their human hosts…”
Gattaca director Andrew Niccol will craft the movie expected to star Academy Award® nominee Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, The Lovely Bones).
“Studios have been looking for another big-time franchise to replace the Harry Potter and Stephenie Meyer’s own Twilight Saga franchises. The former will come to a close this year; the latter ends in summer 2012.”
- Zac Gille, Alt Film Guide
Thanks Chris

Yesterday – It’s been many, many yesterdays since we’ve been telling you that Robert Pattinson would soon hit Nuevo México and it looks like he’s been tippy-toeing around. The face that regularly launches tweens and house fraus alike into a manic frenzy was spotted in the City Different (Santa Fe) over the weekend. He and his co-stars in the forthcoming Unbound Captives are likely prize candidates for ushering in the new dawn of Paparazzi scouting going on in NM…

Today – It is official that the eagerly awaited Passion Play starring Mickey Rourke, Megan Fox, Rhys Ifans, Bill Murray, Kelly Lynch will make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this month (Sept. 9-19).

Mañana – It is being reported that Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage will star in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s upcoming Bollywood gangster movie Broken Horses coming soon to New Mexico. As we have previously published Mickey Rourke is also slated to star.

Image Source: Pattinson State of Mind (no really, that’s what it’s called)
As we’ve been reporting here, here, here and here, the Twilightiacs of the world will soon turn their daylight shy eyes on the Land of Enchantment where R. Pattz will be going from Elephants to Caballos in the upcoming indie Unbound Captives as written and directed by the incredible Madeline Stowe.
Pattinson will star alongside that piece of gorgeousness Hugh Jackman and the superb Rachel Weisz. The Pattz is said to have to learn and primarily speak Comanche for the film. It has yet to be confirmed or denied (officially) whether or not the film will shoot here, but few and far between of those reported go elsewhere…(but some do {sads})
I fully expect the Twilightiac express to land here and I know N. Mex will play a fine and respectful host to all the cast & crew (Lord protect us from the madness).
I also expect that The Pattz will do a great job with the material and I officially add him to the list of my “great expectations” wherein the Nut Butter Boy begs to play the ultimate young Spiderman and our very own Scary Little Lady will take the stage at the Oscars one day…I expect Pattinson to shine out from his cloak of vampire darkness and meet similar professional heights as the late great Heath Ledger…as they say on the evening news…

For Hesh
As Megan Fox does her part(s) to get young Hollywood, NM blood pumping the Twilightiac nation may make your blood run cold. Team Pattinson is sure to lose their collective mind when the world’s most brooding vampire swoops into New Mexico.
Back in May we reported that the magnificent Madeline Stowe will direct Wolverine in The Unbound Captives. It has since been confirmed that the most money making blood-sucker of all time will star as Jackman’s son in the film.
Stowe also wrote the screenplay for the movie which is slated to begin production in NM by the end of the year, set for release…all together now…in 2010.

Apparently this tsunami-cal movie craze is entering its third phase with auditions for Twilight Eclipse scheduled to begin in July.
As we told you here before, the production is specifically seeking authentic Native American actors where indicated.
Here are all the deets on casting submissions required by the film’s Casting Directors as released by Acting 411.
*** Please submit photos and resumes by mail only. No phone calls or personal drop-offs ***
See the post titled Headshot and Resume Information regarding how to submit for acting roles.
Roles Currently Casting:
Leah Clearwater: Female, 19 years of age. Seth’s big sister, and the only female member of La Push wolf pack: “She is tall and slender with beautiful skin and short cropped black hair. She would be considered gorgeous if not for the perpetual scowl she carries due to a broken heart and her anger issues.”
Seth Clearwater: Male, 15-16 years of age is a “tall, gangly-limbed boy with a huge, happy grin, Seth idolizes Jacob.” Black hair, lean muscle type, think swimmer type body.
Riley: Male 19-21. Good looking, blond, clean-cut, muscular college guy who falls victim to Victoria. He’s in his early to mid 20s and Riley was a newborn that was created by Victoria to act as the leader of her recently formed newborn army. He accompanies Victoria in her attempt to murder Bella Swan.
There will also be additional members of the La Push wolf pack and Quileute tribe cast in Eclipse. Like New Moon, they are looking for Native American or First Nations actors ONLY to fill these roles – no actors who “look like they could be” Native American or First Nations people.
Principal Actor Casting (Los Angeles):
I have once again been forced to remove the main Los Angeles principal actors casting directors name and address after just one day because they were getting inundated with hundreds of phone calls per hour. I can’t understand why people ignore the rules stated clearly on EVERY post…. NO PHONE CALLS. Casting directors do NOT have time to take phone calls from anyone but agents and the film’s director. I will only be submitting my submission clients for this project and not releasing the casting director information to anyone due to the inconsiderate actions of the people who were calling the casting offices. Please do NOT email me asking for the casting address, you will not get a response.
Principal Actor Casting (Native Americans and First Nations ONLY!):

Extras Casting:
Please read the following post regarding the extras casting for Eclipse:
The Twilight Saga Extras Casting Information
Open casting calls will be posted here when they are available.
Production Companies:
Do NOT send photos and resumes to the production companies (they will most likely end up in the trash can), they do not cast the films. They hire casting directors who sort through the thousands of submissions.

Well, it’s actually a nation/worldwide search – however where better than Nuevo Mexico to find young, attractive Natives?
New Moon casting has announced its very specific requirements and instructions for consideration as follows:
SEEKING NATIVE AMERICAN TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS
Casting Director René Haynes and her staff are very happy to accommodate any Native teens and young adults (who look very youthful) who are interested in sending them an audition.
They are not currently seeking submissions for any roles other than the ones mentioned here, so only respond if you meet the above requirements.
HOW TO SUBMIT
First thing to do if you fit the specs is to email a recent photo and your contact information to:
info@rhcasting.com
(I’d also suggest sending an audition video link of yourself posted on a site such as YouTube)
DO NOT CALL THE CASTING OFFICE
Deadline is January 30 – Source
